Need help choosing range colour, wall colour and tiles in kitchen
Comments (27)Update - alabaster painted oak units, oak worktop, (curved end units and worktop corners) belfast sink, 1100 stainless steel rangemaster porcelain large high gloss ivory 600x600 floor tiles, ivory grout - please see attached look book just still to decide on shade of sage on walls - deciding between F&B Mizzle, Vert De Terre, Ball Green and Cooking Apple Green... Also metro sub/way tiles on walls - whether to go for a sage tile or cream/white... The dining room area off the kitchen will have oak parquet floor which will follow through from hall and will also be in the lounge but Im thinking of following the wall colour in the kitchen through to the dining room for continuity and potentially painting the chimney brest or wall furthest away from and facing the kitchen a darker green complementary colour... Thoughts please...See MoreHELP! Colour dilemma - what colour walls with a beech unit?
Comments (3)Might sound crazy but a subtle two tone might work not colour blocking but a gradual subtle shade diff a soft off white blue grey teal on top that will not fight against the very bright white window frames and keeping a small room light.. and then getting to a soft blue grey darker teal colour with a soft graded border. And consider painting the unit soft white with an all surface soft white mat or soft sheen paint. Pop up a large piece B&W family photo or a family picked piece of wall art or something wacky like a giant gold fish on a white background framed in a thin bright orange frame and job done...or look up dark snugs/dens with rich bold colours can work well if done correctly .. good luck.....See MoreInternal door colour ?
Comments (7)A quick update after this weekends DIY :) I got a couple of doors completely sanded back and undercoated - used zinsser b.i.n (been recommended that by a painter - expensive, but holy schmoley, if you're looking for a good undercoat this is the baby). Picked up a tin of F&B 'worsted' and popped a couple of coats on. I just grabbed a small tin from HomeBase and if I'm being honest I didn't check the paint finish - ended up with 'Estate Eggshell' - I love the colour but I'm not keen on the finish, it's a bit to Matt for my liking I think. As the doors will be a 'statement' then I'm looking at something a lot more glossy - I may go modern eggshell. I assume that the general consensus is gloss for door yeah ?...See Moreinternal feature brick wall
Comments (7)I’m in agreement with Ribena. Do think carefully before going ahead. When we moved into our current house 30 years ago we had a brick wall built to separate the kitchen from the dining area on the end of the peninsula. It was a bad decision. Dust, muck and the like collected in the joints despite vacuuming it. When we had a new kitchen it got taken back out. It created such a mess taking it back out but at least I now have clean surfaces....See MoreEmily
