Having done 1,000's of rooms in my time I can reassure you on this! Have a 9'x6' ( 2.74x1.83 ) rug which will define your sofa length - this would not normally work if you had a side table at either end but you do not seem to. This will then leave more floor showing because you really should DEFINE the dining area with another rug which will deaden the noise of a good dinner party, protect your floor from chair scraping and balance out the floor decoration. It does not matter if you have all the sofa feet on the rug as long as the front ones are to provide an anchor, give comfort and so feet do not catch along the edge. if you need further advice or would like a very good price for two rugs please contact us through the website and sate which platform you are coming from.

I’d like a coffee table but was initially worried about sizing as the table the tv sits on is quite low. Now that we’ve decided to move I don’t want to spend much as we would hopefully be down sizing. My husband thinks the bigger one would make the room cramped but I’ll show him the mock up and see if it changes his mind, thanks very much for that.

My bedroom is about 9.5ft x 11.5ft and with a ceiling height of approx 6.8ft and I have the large version (40cm). As your room is bigger with a higher ceiling I think it will look too small. In my old Victorian house my room was a similar size to your daughters with a 9ft ceiling height and the pendant I had in there was 70cm diameter. You can always order from Laura Ashley, hold it up in the space and if it is too small, return it.
