Hi, Tiles, paint, glass splashback or using the same worktop effect as a splashback all depends on personal choice as this is the space you will be using and seeing daily especially if you are a real foodie. If it is tiles you are wanting, I wouldnt tile to the top, I think it may be too much Especially with metro tiles; rather I'd prefer to line the tiles with the window bars and see if the extractor can be lowered by a notch to ensure there is continuing straight line through out. Alternatively, I'd consider a neutral coloured glass splashback behind the counter space which would co-ordinate with your walls and work surface.... Good Luck

If you have beautiful period detailing, lovely coving etc then you can draw attention to them by using a contrast. If they are pale and the walls are dark (and vice versa) the contrast will be very strong. However, if the coving and skirting is nothing special then drawing attention to them might be the wrong thing to do. There's no right or wrong answer. With Farrow and Ball colours, then there are lots of options to pick out s slightly darker or slightly lighter version of the same hue. Does this make sense?

Hey Dan, Well, I don't like to comment on someone else design but see below I did a quick 3 sketch. Showing white, midgrey and dark ceiling options for your bathroom. (I had to clean up little bit) I believe this would help you to decide. I personally would go with white ceiling. Because Dark flooring is already will make the space feel darker. Don"t worry, white ceiling would go well with the Carrara Marble. Good Luck.
