advice on decorating an open plan extended living/dining/kitchen
Comments (2)Hi, the plan shows you how to decorate everything. It shows where to put the furniture. The ceilings look too high and the rooms are too square so add softness and ground the space. Use oversized pictures and floor lamp and plants to play with height and texture and to ground the space....See MoreOpen Plan Kitchen/Living/Dining Design Dilemma
Comments (7)Oval dining tables are able to seat everyone comfortably and a good choice. Not so easy to come by however! Maybe a glass top table would add a bit of sparkle/bounce light around the area? If you have kids an oval or round extending to oval best. My dining table is oval with extra leaf added to round top and I keep it as extended. Might be easier to find round to oval than just looking for fixed oval top? Choose a sofa with neutral but washable loose covers (ie machine wash) and add colourful cushions to make a statement. As your wood in new kitchen is dark and warm tones, follow the warm tones with dining table/chair/sofa legs in dark wood....See MoreNeed help with dual room(1. open plan kitchen/dining 2. living room)
Comments (1)Hello nehajo, You have an amazing blank canvas so some questions to help: And there are soo many interior styles so some questions to help: What is your style ? if you are not sure then What colour is the sofa and the style. Do you have a photo? What are the other furniture do you have ? Any photos ? Do you like colours pastels or brights ? What are your favourite colours ? Do you have a favourite shirt, skirt, jumper that has a pattern or style to it? photo please. Do you have a picture or photos that have a coloured frame ? What colour? Do you like plants ? or you have any already ? Are their any sentimental objects ? what is it, description ? What is the rug you want to buy is there a pic of it ? Are you thinking of some sort of fire, faux stove, or a TV for a focal point in the room ? Do you want to have a workspace in the area too? Oh do you have kids if yes then storage for toys etc if older storage for games consoles, games ? MMMmmmI think that is it to start. Cheers :)...See MoreMaximizing a long, narrow open plan kitchen/dining/living space
Comments (4)Hi Jennifer The plan hasn't attached - could you please possibly upload this again in the comment section so I can take a look for you? :) I have two little boys so I can fully understand the play area section - my two have always followed me around so anywhere and everywhere becomes a play area! It is very hard to contain toddlers to be creative in just one area so I can only imagine making sure the open plan space is family friendly as well as useable for everyone is without a doubt a high priority. Looking forward to seeing the developer image. Charlie @ The Kitchen Lady UK www.thekitchenladyuk.co.uk...See MoreAdam
