Can I fully tile a bathroom which was half -tiled 10 years ago?
Comments (14)I am a tiler so its in my interest to persuade people to fit more tiles but I agree with the other people who are questioning why you want to do this. You can transform the room with wall paper as Kerosis suggests and if you tire of that in a few years it is easy to remedy. I always point out to people that tiles are put on the wall as a practical durable easy to clean surface and therefore it is often not necessary to put them everywhere. If you do decide to fit tiles then you should remove the paint on the walls 1st as that was only ever designed to hold itself on the walls and it doesn't matter how brilliantly your adhesive hangs onto that paint if the extra load causes the paint bond to fail then your tiles will no longer be bonded to the wall (no such problem with lightweight wallpaper :-) Terry the tiler...See MoreBathroom layout / tiles
Comments (13)Hi Gina I'm currently working on a small bathroom and I know they can be tricky! You certainly don't need to fully tile both walls as it currently is unless you're particularly concerned about condensation and moisture. You could tile halfway on the wall with the loo and basin or even just a splashback behind the basin but it depends on the style of the room, the tiles your using, paint colours etc. If you find the area to be tiled is making it quite expensive, there are plenty of budget options that don't look 'cheap' if you use them in the right way. Get in touch if you'd like to discuss options or if you'd like any more advice. Look forward to seeing the 'after' pics!...See Moreshould i fully tile or paint a small bathroom

Comments (16)I would imagine you can get a similar plain gloss tile of the same size from elsewhere which no one would notice - save on porcelanosa prices! But I don’t think it would look bad if you added another tile, provided it was same size, gloss, and a different/ strong colour. I would see it as defining the shower area. Annoying that the tap is in the middle of the bath also....See Morekwg kwg
