Comments (9)I agree with Red80 re furniture layout. There are lots of good things in this room, I just personally find the cushions and blinds clash with the chandelier and wallpaper. I would swap the 2 geometric cushions for softer patterns in lighter grey/white/duck egg. I'd get something with different textures as the cushions fabrics look the same atm? Add accessories to your coffee table, maybe just a pile of books, a vase of flowers, and an "ornament" in wood/ceramic/pewter etc again for texture. When budget allows swap the blinds for Roman blinds. Try blinds 2 go or Tuiss which is their sister company if you're in the UK. I can't remember the exact price but I got pure silk Roman blinds for 2 really large windows for c£450 which sounds a bargain to me although not yet up:) I agree the mirror is a little high. If you can, without leaving a hole on show in the wallpaper, I'd lower it as long as it doesn't reflect the tv! I'm not sure the pics to the left of the window work as they're obscured by the curtains. Perhaps also a taller vase/pot in the blue for the tv cabinet to detract from the tv a little more? Alternatively you could change the wallpaper and the mirror to give the room a contemporary rather than classical feel...See MoreFront door, entrance from pavement.
Comments (5)You have a lovely modern house but the lack of privacy and aspect onto the neighbours rubbish bin could easily be addressed by building a solid wall with an oversized entrance gate or a modern trellis. The inside of the wall facing your large window would look amazing if you installed a living wall system. These are very easy to install and come in panels which are screwed onto a substrate. You could select plants that would thrive in the heat. This would give you privacy without having to look out onto a solid wall. I found this website which had some good images. http://treebox.co.uk/products/easiwall-green-wall.html http://treebox.co.uk/products/easiwall-green-wall.html...See MoreHELP! Comments (1)Can you do a room plan, with sizes and position of Window? I think you're going to have to section off the 'Office' from the lounge. Maybe you could use a moveable bookcase. An 'Office in a Cupboard' is a great practical way of hiding the office for when you want to use the room in the evenings as a lounge. The rug is too small. It needs to stretch from slightly under the front of the sofa to just in front of the T.V Unit. Add colour with it and a good thick one with texture. Currently there's nothing above the T.V unit or the Sofa, which are at low levels. Maybe hanging standard lamps to match, one behind the sofa, one in the corner by the T/V unit :- Made.com Sweep lamp Just needs a wee re-jig and a bit of 'plushing up'. A footstool in a bright colour would also help to make the seating area look more comfy. Or an ottoman for the sofa with matching footstool for the chair? Anyway, if you can post a room plan it does help a lot with the re-positioning....See MorePlease I need help to lay out my living/dining area
Comments (17)Hi Andrei, From a circulation view point I think you would naturally enter the room and form an arc to the right to the kitchen arriving at the kitchen island so the dining table would be best on the right I feel. A fire on the left where the vase is would look good visually as you walk in and less cluttered along that wall. If the island is movable I would suggest moving it to the right, closer to the sink and hob to allow a line of site from the sofa to the garden though the French doors. Perhaps a square coffee table tucked in close to the right angle of the sofa would be best for circulation and a bigger rug anchored by the legs of the sofa, perhaps curved on its outer edge to echo a round table?...See MoreTashya
