Is this bathroom size too small?
Comments (10)We're soon going to be extending our bathroom to get those dimensions and can't wait! We think it will be plenty big enough for a bath with shower, vanity and toilet. We are planning lots of built in storage and inset shelves round the bath...See Morehelp with bathroom layout please
Comments (13)Morning! Thanks @ MATM I think both bath and shower are definitely too cramped. Would the quadrant shower work better in that corner though than a square one? And will give enough space to walk in and around? Otherwise we have a 1200 long shower we can re-use so was thinking of putting that on the left wall with maybe the wc at the end or just storage space and having the wc on the right and sink on the back wall. I'm also working on an alternative room plan to try and make the room bigger so will come back and post the sizes of it works (just waiting on confirmation from a specialist today!)...See MoreUtility/Bathroom layout
Comments (7)It seems having an external door in the bathroom is not a popular idea although I thought it was a good and practical idea?! I see the point with the clutter though...(sigh) ok, we will steer away from having an external door in this room! @OnePlan (Concept planners) sorry that's me - I didn't copy the whole floorplan! We will be keeping the bedroom on the left as this is the master bedroom with ensuite. This bedroom is also used to dry our cloths in the winter and it's constantly a mess with the amount of dry/wet clothes and clothes horse laying about! We will be moving the kids up to the loft and the small bedroom in front will turn into a multi function room office/playroom/guest room/place to dry the clothes. @sunshineband34 hadn't considered bringing the wall infront of the bathroom forward. It'd be good idea if we weren't planning the loft conversion but as the staircase is being installed in the hallway, it may be better to leave the front bathroom wall as is as otherwise it may feel closed in and dark? @minnie101 I had no idea such a thing existed! And that drying cupboard is amazing! Do you think it would fit in well outside the bathroom along the left wall/in the boiler cupboard space? Or do they have to be fitted near a window for ventilation?...See MoreSplitting a family bathroom into two?
Comments (11)If I was to try and include one upstairs I would place it in the bedroom rather than a split (it’s also the best choice to the plumbing element):- Although this might make the bedroom too small (drawings not to scale for fitting in a bathroom suite). I‘d possibly look at what you can do on the ground floor, can you replan the space and lose some from the porch / Kitchen? Although for me, I’d fully reconfigure the extension end, do away with the porch next to the kitchen and open it up into one large usable space (as someone with a conservatory thats 3m x 3m it’s the largest most under utilised space in the property and is used primarily as a drying room in winter for laundry.... I’d look to place the kitchen in the top half and the area marked for kitchen on your plan would be turned into a utility/laundry room and toilet/shower area (again, the split isnt to scale, but you get the idea of where to place things). You can have a nice large window, folding doors or even a sky light over the kitchen to give it loads of light (can the porch be brought out the extra bit to make it level and a true ‘L’?). You could also reposition the dining room doors if you wanted to use the wall along that side for more kitchen storage. I’m no good with room design but I feel this will give you the best options for the property....See MoreA B
