what colour sofa would go in room.with teal walls?

the room has a large bay window and is north facing. The other sofa (1960s) is a mustard gold colour and there is a leather reclining chair with stool (1960s).

My large lounge is very retro and mustard features quite strongly on two walls. We use it a lot in the evenings but it felt a bit lacklustre in the afternoons before. My sofas are a dull olive colour which works I think with the saturated walls. Having only two walls such a strong colour seems to work.

Photos would be good. Need to know what the flooring is and what look you are after. Do you like a bit of a retro vibe?

the floor has the original floor boards that have been sanded back and varnished and yes I definitely love the retro vibe!

Hello, I'd love to upload a pic but the app is not letting me at the moment. It's a hall and was thinking the bottom half of it (it's already divided with skirting, creating a "panel" look) should be ochre and the top one in a light neutral (UK, not much natural light). The carpet on stairs will be an ochre / old gold colour. I do like the idea of inverting the colours: lighter for the bottom panel and ochre for the rest, but I'm afraid of it being too much ochre and eventually i would have to paint ochre upstairs too. The bottom panel is about 1 metre high. Thanks.

Ah, can't be sure, but it looks a lot like F&B Pitch Blue. Keep in mind that colours that you see online will most probably look very different in your home, because the light will be different. Also, photos are almost always manipulated, and all screens will give a slightly different image, so even if they mention which paint they've used, it might look different in real life. Best thing is to try a couple of colours out in your room, not smaller than A4 size really, to get a good idea of how it will look. Good luck

If you pick colours that are related to teal such as blue, or green or slightly yellow/green and choose a duller version of one of these colours, then the teal will look harmonious but stand out if it is more saturated. I would go for a moody olive/grey.

I would say grey, green or purple, but as colourhappy said, would be good to see photos of the room

I was wondering whether you changed the colour on the walls, colourhappy. I liked the previous one too. But this looks very warm and sunny. Lovely.

Hi Minnie and Carolina. Yes I changed it to Muga from Paint and Paper library. We bought some artwork for a joint 'big' birthday and felt it needed a more saturated wall to put it on. I have been teaching my students alot about dark/light versus dull/bright colours! Indian Yellow is lovely but I like the more retro feel of this.
