New kitchen diner and i need curtains!
Comments (10)I do agree you may be better with a plain fabric with a mustard trim given the size of the windows. I Tried to find a faded striped fabric in your colours but without joy as the stripes would give the appearance of it being taller. Fabric shown is harlequin poetica Laurier. You could also mix and match fabric between the kitchen and dining end. The 2nd ones shown are Clarke and Clarke Bukhara which also looks nice in the grey and white colour way (geometric pattern). Final pics is from susie Watson designs pearl Apple blossom. I would maybe think about trims or even hanging a faux curtain on a track underneath the curtain to bring the mustard in if you don't like busy patterns....See MoreWhich white paint for kitchen/diner/lounge.

Comments (8)I'm sure Karen will give you lots of options :) option 1 utility position doesn't work for me personally. I wouldn't want to be trecking through those doors etc. I don't know if an option would be to make the study a combined laundry/cloak and then extend the playroom to include a desk. If you work from home a lot though that could be an issue? Option 2, the kitchen doesn't feel big enough for the house and not sure how many tall units you're wanting? The loss of door in the play room is also tricky for hanging out washing. do you mean like an oriel window for the window seat? i don't know if i would change the window and door around? Just thinking of taking rubbish out, bbq's, al fresco dining etc so the door may be better from the kitchen?...See MoreNew kitchen / diner layout - which would you choose?
Comments (5)That's great if you can be flexible with the windows. I personally prefer option 2 but would swap the island and the dining area. A bigger utility would always be my choice. If possible, going for an integrated fridge/freezer would give you more space. I've 'guestimated' where the pillar is... could be in the totally wrong place! I am thinking tall units with double oven/fridge/freeze (built-in) on the entry wall with the pocket door. Or go for combined fridge/freezer and use one tall unit as a mini pantry cupboard which could hide away microwave & kettle. (Light Blue) Sink under the first window (can make it smaller) and then hob could also back wall if you don't want it on the island. Block up the second window potentially. Then can have more tall units by the dining table or low level with open shelves for the dining area. (Dark Purple). If you have tall units there, you can add a cupboard and have kettle etc underneath where the window used to be. Funnily enough, this is what we've planned for our kitchen. Another option, (although I know not everyone likes this style, is run the table off the island). I personally really like this design....See MorePatricia Allen
