Which colour Aga

Need to order my Aga this week and make a colour choice narrowed down as in pic to go in a light grey kitchen with a dark blue/grey island? Don’t know whether to contrast or blend in

White - classic and will go with any colour in the future, if you repaint your furniture, will fit in even more so if you have a white Belfast sink in the kitchen .

Go for the black, it will contrast nicely with the grey and make a statement. It also won't show up scratches so easily.

I can give you the opinion on clearance reduction as most US codes and testing agencies see it. http://publicecodes.cyberregs.com/icod/irc/2012/icod_irc_2012_24_sec007.htm The short story is that a 1" air gap is required behind the heat shield, and something more substantial than foil. TABLE G2409.2 (308.2) REDUCTION OF CLEARANCES WITH SPECIFIED FORMS OF PROTECTION Should give you a good idea of what "should" be an acceptable means of reducing clearance. Think of it as a double boiler system. If you put a pan directly on the heat, you can burn things very easily. But, if you put one pan inside another with boiling water, then it keeps things from getting too hot.

I have a black aga but it shows the dust and dirt too much for my liking! It can look traditional or modern though so handy if like me you want a new kitchen in 5 years time! As they are so pricey I would stick to a colour that will work with your changes over the years, as you say grey is very in at the moment. I fell in love with a lilac aga when we installed ours but had to be sensible as I was only spending £6000 on a cooker once!

Hi Lisa, Loving the royal blue Aga such a timeless colour. I would suggest for the spaces either side of the Aga to work with them rather than against them. As they are only 17cm wide I would suggest some open shelving you could store cookbooks or recipe books here even the odd small appliance ie weighing scales etc. Or if you don't like the look of ope shelves you could get some base units made up. I wouldn't just plaster over them as it seems like a waste of storage space. I love the idea of the cream subway tiles in the alcove of the fireplace. I would then paint the chimney breast in a different colour so it stands out. What will be the colour rest of the kitchen units? Hope this was helpful, let us know if you have any other questions. I think you need to start with the F&B colour card. Hold it up against the walls in the kitchen. See what appeals and what looks dim and boring. Then get tester pots of the colours you like and paint large pieces of cardboard and place those around the room. It will give you an idea of what works in your kitchen. Since you already have the floor(? In another part of the house?), you can see which ones work with the floor too. I like your idea of grey with a green undertone. If I'm not mistaken I think Downpipe has a blue undertone. F&B suggest colour combos on their website. Could you post photos of your kitchen? So we can see the space?

I personally would go for the dark grey one for that set up.

I can see we are not much help so far ;)
