Garden office cladding

Hello, I'm building a garden office soon measuring 8x12ft. I have been given a set of nearly new white patio doors, with internal georgian beading. I'm struggling to come up with a design for the exterior, namely the cladding which will go well with these white doors. Any suggestions. My best solution I have come up with is stone coloured feather edge on most walls with larch on the "inside" wall and roof. P.s I can't paint the doors due to the internal white beading within the glazing.

I think you can pull off a dark grey or even black, and paint the door surrounds. Make a feature of picking up on the white bars with white planters. Dramatic against grey or black.

If you're using shingles on the roof, make sure you've enough of a fall so that the water runs off adequately, or use Bitchumen.

This may help. I also like Minnie's suggestion, but what is odd is that the grey/beige RAL colour looks so different on the close up image. Avoid anything with a violet hue as this will clash horribly. Also make sure that whatever you do is either considerably lighter or darker unless the colour is the same, colurs can look discordant if they are too similar tonally. https://www.e-paint.co.uk/Colour_alternatives.asp

Keep the loo. We built a new garden room over lockdown and didn't add a loo as it would have too expensive with new sewage etc. But with husband now working out there it would have been great to save him having to come into house. It could also be teen hangout space, home gym or occasional guest room - all would use a loo. But even just for kids to go to loo quickly when playing outside I think it's worth it since it's already there.

Yes indeed plants will do it but be sure they don’t have the potential to grow so tall they block the view! In the main I would keep the gravel but put a paved patio and perhaps staggered slabs set in the gravel for a path leading to the patio. Gravel is a great medium to grow plants in. There are lots of plants that love it and will happily set seeds creating new plants. Just dig a decent sized hole and fill with good soil and compost before you plant (NOT peat! We need that to stay in the ground to combat global warming). For inspiration check out Beth Chatto’s book about her gravel garden. She turned a car park into an amazing low maintenance garden.

Hi Man About the House. Many thanks for your suggestion, yes this may work. The roof will be EPDM and has a slight slope for water run off. If anyone else has any other suggestions, they'd be warmly received.

I like MATH's idea to go dark, don't think you have to paint the door surrounds though. Dark colours sort of disappear, and it looks great as a background for plants too.

Could you add windows, either flanking the doors or as in the example below? Depending on how you want to place furniture. The more light, the larger it seems on the inside. And I saw this example, with trellis on the sides instead of solid walls.
