White/cream would be really nice, I'd be a bit cautious with having brown, cream and cranberry as it could end up looking a bit heavy with colour tone's as none of these colours will be prominent enough to break up the brown from the worktop and the floor. Not sure if I've explained it too well, let me know! Also I'm not sure how much research you've done with wood worktops yet but they do involve a fair amount of maintenance in comparison to a quartz worktop. Regular oiling is needed to avoid getting stains and the walnut going black around the sink. That being said it really is a beautiful worktop material to have in the kitchen, incredibly eye catching and very classical too. Granite and quartz are both stones but that's really about where the characteristics of them - granite needs sealing to avoid any staining or scratching or the surface, however it does take a lot of effort for that to happen. Quartz is granite with all the 'negative characteristics' taken out of it - it's lighter, it's scratch and stain resistant and generally a little bit more durable. Actually the curtains look fine, better than I expected but yes a totally different style to the rug and both quite distinct patterns so clashed. I'd go with a more abstract fluid rug in similar colours and a splash of something like pale lime. blue or orange so it's not too matchy matchy. One step at a time! I've been known to buy and change sofas and rugs in my living room numerous times until I'm happy (luckily I like pre-loved things so rarely lose much, if any money on them, just takes a bit of effort. I agree with many of the above comments. Some colours will turn many people off (I personally can't abide pink) and as mentioned completely neutral kitchens can look bland. You could choose a colour that is subdued such as this one and mix it in with neutral coloured cabinets too.
