What colours should I choose to go with my aubergine/cream kitchen?
Comments (8)I would go for high gloss mustard green wet wall where the tiles were. This colour looks great with aubergine and the sleek finish will instantly update the kitchen. Positional ceiling halogens and lighting under the wall cupboards to make the rich colours glow. I think three colours are fine, especially if you pull them together in a blind fabric or cushion. ???...See MoreShould I change or Should I Keep?
Comments (15)Looks really well Patrina, sometimes you can think something needs changed but in reality......as far as the radiator goes, I’ve painted mine with emulsion when I want it to blend in or wipeable satin or eggshell for wood or metalwork, I’ve been using crown paint lately and I’ve been very impressed! Their trade mix scrubbable paints are very good quality and a great range of colours in their charts...See MoreTips to make the fence colour work against red brick
Comments (20)I would recommend a nice soft green. No expert, but I think the good news is you can just paint over the current grey. If you’re up for it I think you should do it before you start planting so you still have all the space to do it. @Sonia has used a lovely green on some of her garden furniture which I think would bring the natural and ‘warm’ character back to your fence. And yes... loads of substantial planting needed. As said, you’re at the right address (this forum, not me...😊) for the best planting advice. 👍...See MoreAdvice appreciated - should I keep or change this wall colour?
Comments (15)Thanks for replies, didn't get any notifications so just reading them now. Think the horrible old doors definitely aren't helping just now so good other people think that could be skewing my view of the paintwork. We are waiting for our joiner to have the time to come out and put new doors/skirtings/facing in. That's another decision I'm trying to make - either all white doors and woodwork or white doors and woodwork same colour as walls to increase feeling of ceiling height, or oak doors similar colour to floor with white woodwork or the black modern doors that are in just now? Too much choice 🤯 Good to know people think it will tie together OK once better doors etc in though. I see now from a couple of pics what people were saying earlier about a blue/grey on the wall. The blue/grey in some of the pics is actually F and B All White in dining area but with the lights off. It does actually look pretty good against the sofa. The previous owners had the arch wall in the living painted as a feature wall but because the room is long and narrowish I though that it just emphasised this but maybe I would be better to put a darker colour on the arch wall and radiator wall to lift the couch and balance the room? Although we still have half the house to do so sure my partner would rather we worked with the room as it is! Thanks for reading my ramblings if you've got this far 😆...See Morepeachypear
