Advice on Kitchen Worktop
Comments (3)Hi Depending on your budget another option is the Granite Transformations product a 6.5mm thick solid surface with a material life time guarantee that is designed to fit on top of your existing worktops. Although, as you have wood worktops which need to be allowed to breathe, we would need to remove your existing wood worktops and replace them with a new substrate. All of this could be done in just one days and usually costs between £2 - £4 thousand pounds. If your budget allows this is definitely the way forward. Good luck. Comments (16)Hi Claire. I confess I'm not very good at kitchen planning! However (ignoring cost of moving plumbing and potential structural changes) have you considered taking 3ft or so from your living room which would still leave you a really decent size room. The plan isn't to scale but gives you a rough idea. I can see you like banquette seats so that's what that is on the plan! I think standard depth units are 60cm and I've copied this re hose etc. On the utility wall you could consider some kind of display or breakfast cabinet in the middle. If the units blend in with the wall as they do in your inspiration pic I don't think it will feel like a utility area in your dining room. http://www.whitegoodshelp.co.uk/washing-machine-depth-specifications/...See Moremy kitchen
Comments (12)Hi If you are not looking to replace the units or worktop you could paint the units a cream colour to lighten up the kitchen, and change the cabinet handles. Also you seem to have lots of wire baskets, is this because you don't have enough storage? Your fridge is far too close to your oven, I would move this further to the side away from the built in units if possible. Maybe update the tap You could also add a glass splash back that is in one piece, this will instantly update the look. Take a look at a few ideas to play with. Look forward to seeing the finished look! Shannon...See Morehelp: our house needs a new layout
