Small main bathroom - should we move the wall?
Comments (17)Hello jodg, I see well that's not quite what I had in mind : ) ) ... perhaps consider the closet idea for your bedroom... Regarding the shower screen...possibly an overhead curtain rail as opposed to a glass screen... It negates the need for a wall to fix the glass sheet to.. Or and this one requires more plumbing.. move the loo... in order to leave a smaller bath at that end of the bathroom.. If not then you can enclose the stairs and then fix the shower screen to the "wall" and keep bath at that end and loo and sink at the other end.. possibly losing the storage element under the stairs, which isn't ideal for what you want but it's possible you could create both.. if not smaller storage... : ))...See MoreNeed help for Family bathroom remodel
Comments (11)I can't use sketchup! This is way easier...and when you click ' furniture ' type in what you want..ie shower. Cos then more come up rather than ' bathroom furniture ' etc You can change the dimensions when you click on ' shower' So make sure it is exactly for your needs.. Not what's standard etc I think 800x800is too small if enclosed , if you drop the soap you have to open the door or you won't be able to bend over etc..but if it is a wet area..that's fine etc Have fun.... And show us !! You can export it to your email addy once finished. Save design, then upload here....See MoreHelp with small bathroom please
Comments (16)Nessaj have you thought about the style, an overall look, of your new bathroom? From our experience that impacts the design very much. For example, if you’d like to have a more traditional, victorian style, than a big freestanding slipper bath would be the focal point and everything else would have to be designed around it. And on the other hand, if you like a more contemporary feel, then a big wet room enclosure form wall to wall would be the main feature. And all of that dictates the arrangement on the floorplan. We’d be happy to help you if you could tell us more about how your dream bathroom would look like. Comments (9)Both Hansgrohe and (Friedrich) Grohe are German companies; Friedrich was a son of Hans who went on his own in the 1930s, so they share a certain heritage. These days, Grohe is larger and no longer family owned. Both produce outside Germany as well as on their original German sites still. Both produce "basic" and "high-end" ranges. They're both regarded well back home in Germany, much of the choice is down to personal preference. Hansgrohe is on average slightly more expensive (but not on everything). They also own the Axor design brand which has a more "ecletic" selection. One can mix-and-match; in our bath (bit messy, sorry - we're using it for the washing up while waiting for the kitchen to be installed), the mixer is Grohe as is the shower wall outlet, the shower rail and head shower arm (just above the shower screen) are Hansgrohe pieces. At least the chromed finishes are very close for the two: Both can be sourced well below retail list prices - if you're prepared to wait, German online sellers for bathroom goods tend to have many-months delivery timelines. For Grohe essentials (the classical Grotherm mixers) at least, any German DIY shop stocks these at very attractive prices (the difference to the UK retail price list will pay for the ferry ticket and fuel)....See Moremoominrhubarb
