Anthracite grey Windows or not?
Comments (29)Hi, We manufactured timber windows which we painted in Anthracite grey for a house in Bognor:Or possibly a lighter grey, which is called Hardwick white, may look good: Both of these house were rendered white which compliments the window colour. Have a look at our website gallery for more ideas www.medinajoinery.co.uk Regards Medina Joinery...See MoreColour for exterior windows and uPVC or Alluminium
Comments (4)We just had dark grey powdered aluminium Windows put in with acoustic glass to the master bedroom which fronts the road and have been very impressed by how good it is. Upvc is nasty, profiles are massive and no matter what they say they do not last well....See MoreWhite or anthracite - avoiding scratches
Comments (24)Hi Hannah, Thank you. Yes, the more we look into this the more we realise that the scratches must have been made during fitting or transporting. We aren't very happy about it. We have also been looking at other aluminium doors for wear and have noticed no scratches even with high use, as per your showroom ones. I have also spoken to the manufacturer who agrees. It's such a shame we have had this problem. Strangely the somehow the screw ended up in the key when I found it on our patio (where the fitter had dropped it), I don't know why I didn't take it out but I put that in the window after I found the scratches. I'm not sure we have the time to look into our options now and we want the frame to match up to the loft window. The fitter tried to cover a scratch I had seen when he was there, with a paint pen but it just looks like a kid has drawn on it. Out of interested, why have you suggested anthracite? I am still inclined to go with white for a more classic look (and to stop the room closing in with the door frames?) but I'm worried about fading to yellow. Unless I can find a way to prevent this but is there a practical reason why anthracite is better? thank you...See MoreWhich white for contemporary exterior?
Comments (16)Thanks again @rinq, great information and I suspect you have more light in Holland than we do here in Northern Ireland. Hello again @Jonathan and thanks for the tips on the texture. You are right, I just need to make a decision regarding the colour! Yes getting very excited. Absolutely delighted with how the build has progressed. The end is almost in sight, hopefully moving in early April. Great time to be moving in. Thanks @colourhappy (your name is what I'm trying to be!!). Funny you should ask about the paving because that another area I cannot make a decision on. We are laying Tobermore Mayfair graphite paving out the back but they don't go very well against the Liscannor stonework on the front so we need to find something that does - any suggestions would be very welcome....See Moresksj1
