white kitchen, tile advice please

hi, just about to fit a new white gloss kitchen, having white quartz worksurface with glitter specs in. The floor will be karndean in an oak colour which has some grey in. What grey tiles for above the work surface would you suggest? Thank you

Hi

We just recently completed a clients worktops who had a similar colour scheme and they ended up choosing a white glass splashback instead of tiles. With the cabinet lights the colours worked really well together. Hope that helps

Thanks for picture. I really want to add some colour as thought white would be too clinical but that kitchen looks lovely!

Hi there! Is this the kitchen in your new home or just similar? Either way, stunning! You could definitely country-fy this space. Is it definitely white gloss and not beige? I know you don't want to change the kitchen itself but you are willing to change the work tops - how do you feel about changing just the door fronts? So not the carcasses at all, just the doors which is a lot less costly than replacing the kitchen. I think the worktop is great for a country style even if a little dark, but a classic design for country kitchens is definitely matt shaker units with either brushed silver knobs or shell style handles so this would make a huge difference! If not, it's still very possible! I Always say the two Ws of country style kitchen are Woods and Weaves! So baskets, trays, wood accents, woven decor etc. and can't beat a bit of cladding if you're wanting to decorate the walls! Keep to a similar colour to the kitchen so it doesn't stick out too much, keep it subtle. Some pics below for inspiration! I have tried to keep them to the same style that yours already is just to show you how it is possible to decorate around the pretty modern style.

Sanitary ware. I'm having a crisis of decision making. I bought a new sink and vanity from IKEA: https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/products/washstands-taps/wash-stands/fullen-t%C3%A4lleviken-wash-basin-cabinet-white-spr-39891444/ However, it's occurred to me since that it'll take up too much of the room/floorspace, especially as the sink faces you as you walk in. I've been looking at other designs, and the wall-hung sink with a nicer-looking chrome waste could be a much better option. Added to this, if I'm tiling the floor, I'll probably need to buy a new loo, and IKEA doesn't do matching loos. Therefore...where can I buy a basic loo/basin package? What's the difference between a 'toilet and basin' and a 'cloakroom suite'? Should I go for one or two tap holes? Am I wasting my money? Should I just update the taps on the existing sink and tile-box in the waste?

Hi,

How about a light grey or maybe even a smoky grey glass splahback, to complement the flecks in the worktop. As you will have wood effect flooring, this will instantly add warmth to the room.

I also like the above idea of using hexagonal tiles, adds some interest without detracting from the worktop. You could also look at subtle marble effect tiles.
