bi fold door and shutter blinds

I have a large Windows/ door leading to the garden. Lets in lots of light which I love. I want to up date this area with bi fold doors and shutter. I can't seem to get shutters that will stretch the length of this window (about 3m). Any ideas for light, any shutter companies, no curtains

Hi Donna don’t know if an option for you but I know you can source specialist bi-fold door blinds nowadays.
We have two walls of bi-folds ourselves but decided in the end not to bother with a covering as the glass is tinted, and never felt the need. However Blinds 2 Go have made specialist blinds that easily sit on the glass pane frame itself with no need for additional fixings and don’t spoil the overall look.
If it’s specifically shutters your after,sorry not much help there.

Hi Christine If you haven't already purchased the doors, an option you could consider is the Centor Integrated Folding Door. It's available in a range of configurations – a 5 panel option is available. Designed for homes, you can choose a built-in blind and/or insect screen, both of which are fully serviceable. We stayed in an apartment last year and the bifold doors had insert blinds on the doors, like the first picture above (turquoise ones) from Hillary’s. They were white and to be honest you hardly noticed them at all when they were up, so maybe a soft grey or off white might look nice? As far as greige paint colours go, the world is your oyster! I’ve used Dulux Egyptian Cotton and love it. Also Farrow & Ball do many shades of greige such as Skimming Stone and Elephants Breath, but there are so many! I would grab as many colour charts as you can and then get some match pots and paint them on sheets of paper and blue tack to your walls and see what catches your eye.

Excellent. Thanks for the visual. Always helps as builders are only at the foundation stage at the moment! 28m3 of concrete pumped on the site last week as our house built on higher ground so extension has to match ground level and we're adding a first level extension too. A long way to go but take each day at a time. No more projects for you then?!

We got ours from Apple Blinds which is local to where we are in the North West. They are battery powered so didn’t need to be wired in. They operate by remote control which is attached to the wall with a discrete bracket and looks a bit like a smart home monitor I think. They need charging only once every few months. They charge by plugging in to charger for a few hours. The blinds when open are also very discrete but you should check whether they can be attached around your window frames. I agree with others that open glass is nice but I think for security purposes it is a good idea to have something for when you are away or over night etc
