Glazed Fire Doors
Comments (8)Thank you for the suggestions everyone. I had spotted those cheaper ones too with a company called doors of distinction but they advised the manufacture time is 12-14 weeks, which isn’t ideal. I had also considered buying the doors and glass separately but it seems to work out about the same price. It’s certainly an expensive part of the market that’s for sure!...See Morenatural wood shelf for bathroom sink? Anyone make one?
Comments (30)Thanks, done it all myself :-) full schluter system, cost a small fortune but worth it, I actually dug my floor out and replaced it adding the needed slope to the drain! My floor tiles are from Brazil, sorry can’t recall the make but that was two years ago and I was in a tile shop choosing patio tiles and couldn’t believe the choice nowadays! They neatly look as if they have been in an old house that has been burnt in a fire! I love them but they are a brave choice tbh. The back lite mirror and led strip which down washes the wall with the shower heads and controls really is needed as the Pom is quite dark! Saying that I love dark walls too so it really does look fantastic with the strip light on at night even just as a feature!...See MoreCrittall-style fire door???
Comments (28)Yes, to the best of my knowledge there are no sliding doors I know of other than automatic sliding doors used in commercial applications, (plenty of those about and not Crittall® or steel look) so it looks like you might have to go down the hinged door route. The steel windows associaltion i'd suggest are worth getting in touch with to ask if this product is available either as a standard system or whether it can be made-to-order. Comments (17)Appreciating the budget friendly ideas @natashahall1. the walls in question are not load-bearing walls. they are stud walls (if that's the correct terminology for hollow/thin walls put up to create simple divisions). There is a radiator fixed on the partition between the kitchen and living room, on the kitchen side. And the boiler is attached to the kitchen wall facing the garden to the right of the window. I'm pretty sure these terrible design decisions/placements will increase the costs of achieving a design/layout that @HU-149872109 has suggested. but also i'm considering underfloor heating (and getting new floors for the whole groundfloor area) so perhaps this project is probably something i need to bite the bullet on if i want something spectacular for this tiny space. and agree, that's a gorgeous porch! 😍...See MoreJesmondDene
