American Style Fridges- yes or no
Comments (19)I would have said integrated 6 months ago, I have always has integrated appliances. My main concern with the American fridge freezer was the lack of storage on the slimmer freezer side. And the depth that they protrude from a standard kitchen. Then I discovered Fisher & Paykel. I have opted for the American look with 2x fridge freezer side by side. Using their connection kit and surround. I couldn't be happier....See MoreFridges - integrated or exposed?
Comments (22)I prefer to have mine integrated now because I just want to have a streamlined look for my kitchen design. I am now living on my own and only want other items to take centre stage . However I think some of the attractive coloured smeg fridges stand out as a feature when you have medium size family to feed. My needs and opinion s have changed alongside my changes in homes over the years . Also depends how much space you can devote to your kitchen design....See MoreKitchen help please - Adding a fridge freezer
Comments (11)I think you're rather stuck on where to put a fridge freezer now the kitchen is done because it would need to go on the end of the run because of the height. I guess you could put it in the dining area along with a couple of larder units to make it one long continuous run if you're opting for a smaller table although I do like how it currently is. Regarding corners I would always plan a 900 L shaped base in each corner because you can then open each door offering you full and easy access to the whole area. Much cheaper than installing chromeworks in a cupboard for a decent brand....See MoreAmerican or French style fridge-freezer
Comments (10)I guess both fridges you are talking about are double door, and wider than regular fridges? I'm bit confused with some comments.... And difference is that french has freezer box on bottom+ 2 upper doors, while american has freezer in one side? Is that correct? If thats the case, and you already consider space and budget (french are more expensive), my recommendation is: If you are more used to use frozen food: go for american style, the frozen food is better organized than in french one. If you use more fresh food: french style, the fresh food has better organization and space I personally prefer...... French Style!.. because is wider space for fresh food to be stored (imagine a family size tray/cake) , I feel less food goes to waste, and i don't mind frozen food to be a bit stacked But again, it depends on what you are used to. Hope it helps!...See MoreJ
