Comments (4)I concur with Ed, you're better off with a builder who will organise everything for you as he goes. But, generally, you :- Need to know where the plumbing and drainage work is going, Then you build your shell up ( the steel / the window work ) Then first fix plumbing and electrics, ( know where every light, lightswitch, socket cover and tap is going. Do the floor Put the kitchen in Finish the plumbing ( taps ) / Electrics (socket covers, lights ) Basically, you need to know down to the last light switch what is going where, plan for it meticulously, and you shouldn't go wrong! Comments (52)I'm not sure about either to be honest, sorry. I appreciate the ideas though! I think where i'm struggling is i quite like something gold/marble, i'm just aware I have gone for quite statement pieces so I want everything to effortlessly flow together and look well-styled but not gaudy/mish-mashed. I suppose I know how i want it to feel i.e. luxurious, elegant and feminine rather than how i want it to look, if that makes sense? Comments (8)Crown Imperial have a showroom in Daventry. You can’t just arrive but have to make an appointment as they don’t like it overcrowded. I haven’t been for many years but I do recall they offer some great ideas. The only downside for Crown products is that you pay for the name. I’ve sourced kitchen units from other suppliers and the quality is no different but the price is, but if they’re the only company you can find offering this then you’ll be tied to them. Personally I’d think of the cleaning aspect. Will they be easy to keep finger mark free?...See MoreWhat waste do I need to buy for this sink and vanity unit?
Comments (5)Unslotted waste because there is no overflow hole. Choose one in a finish that matches your chosen taps. Bottle trap goes under the sink, in that space where they’ve shown folded towels and soaps. It will be visible so choose a nice one that matches your taps. The one in the picture clearly isn’t plumbed in. You will see there are two holes in the shelf which are to allow space for the bottle trap (if it hangs down that far) and the pipework to the taps - this pipework is also not shown in the picture. You may want to discuss with your builder/fitter/plumber how they plan to do the pipework so it looks ok. You can get decorative pipe collars in eg chrome effect that will look better than exposed copper pipe, or paint the pipes. Or you can get the pipes chased into the wall but that will be more expensive especially if it’s a solid wall....See More- 6 years ago
