Comments (29)Hi you two, you've been so very helpful. I've ordered a few GP & J samples so I can't wait to get them! You've been great with advise so much so I recommended Houzz on Facebook, not your names specifically incase you didn't want that but you've certainly helped me. Don't think I'll go for an aqua wallpaper I think it might be a bit much as I'd like to paper all the walls up to pic rail, then paint above, but I love the herons - unusual, modern yet in keeping. Sometimes I wish we didn't have a period property as there is a lot of work to do. We moved in in March and it's an uphill struggle but I know it will be worth it in the end! I'm currently covered in wallpaper & paint specks....See MoreAnyone with a layout idea for the following kitchen diner?
Comments (32)Beyond your desired look and feel, you need to have a list of appliances that need to be included in the layout. Most technical kitchen design is about how to fit all the appliances in. Cabinets tend to fit into place around them. I've noticed also that you want folding sliding doors (FSDs). They are very fashionable at the moment but come with certain issues you should be aware of. Firstly, they come with a lot of moving parts. Over time, new walls and door openings tend to settle and can cause issues with the ease of opening. When open, FSD panels take a up a surprising amount of space. You need to include that space in your plan. Of course, they can open to the outside but that could impede the flow of people outside. Consider large sliding doors or stacking sliding doors instead. If you're set of FSDs try to go with standard sizes as they tend to be less expensive than custom sizes. That applies to any doors/windows....See MoreWater feature advice and how to jazz up this rockery
Comments (2)Thanks very much Honeypoppet, I love the pics and the sculptures are a great idea. I am more drawn to the idea of the water feature for the sound of the trickling water as well as the interest aspect. I am not sure whether a polyresin one looks realistic though and whether the one I have seen online is the right colouring. I have gone round so many garden centres but the choice has been really limited!...See Morenatural wood shelf for bathroom sink? Anyone make one?
Comments (30)Thanks, done it all myself :-) full schluter system, cost a small fortune but worth it, I actually dug my floor out and replaced it adding the needed slope to the drain! My floor tiles are from Brazil, sorry can’t recall the make but that was two years ago and I was in a tile shop choosing patio tiles and couldn’t believe the choice nowadays! They neatly look as if they have been in an old house that has been burnt in a fire! I love them but they are a brave choice tbh. The back lite mirror and led strip which down washes the wall with the shower heads and controls really is needed as the Pom is quite dark! Saying that I love dark walls too so it really does look fantastic with the strip light on at night even just as a feature!...See Moredesign novice
