Farrow and ball greys - which one??
Comments (13)Hi Cornforth White and Manor House grey contrast each other beautifully so these colours will work as long as you don't find them cold. Personally I don't find them cold at all but the only way to be sure is to paint the sheets and stare at them for a while in the room! The testers you have already are all different tones so try and group them together following the F&B chart and decide which tones you like best. Also consider buying a tester of plummet which works with Manor House grey and purbeck stone which works with Cornforth White....See MoreThis room is too dark
Comments (8)I agree with Jonathan re an oversized mirror. You could try one behind the sofa, it will also make the room feel wider. The walls already look a warm shade but you could go lighter. Have a look at those with yellow or red undertones. http://www.farrow-ball.com/neutral-groups/content/fcp-content alternatively dulux do a light and space paint that you could try. I think the room may be better balanced keeping the window. A Roman blind hung outside of the recess shouldn't reduce any light, keep the blind similar to the wall colour. I might put the TV over the fire to free up space depending on its size. Maybe add something to the mantle to detract from the TV. I would also add a glass coffee table to bring furniture into the middle of the room. I'd get a rug similar in colour to the floor. If your sofas are dark then lighten with cushions and a throw....See MoreFarrow and ball brassica on floorboards - or go with a grey?
Comments (0)I've recently discovered the joy of blowing all my spare money on farrow and ball paint. I have a double living room (2 rooms knocked into one, with an arch separating) One side is Blackened and the other soon to be Arsenic, above the picture rail and the rail it's self is All White. Question is Would Brassica look a bit too much on the skirting board and floor boards? Should I go with a grey instead and if so which one? I already have a grey carpet which is worn out and very messed up, I don't much care for the grey(too bland). I'm not afraid of colour and don't mind a bit of clashing, all my furniture is an eyesore too(painted chairs, partners ugly desk, my wood desk, white couch, green chair, knitted throws, dark wood coffee table, pine tv cabinate, wicker sofa, the list goes on). One chimney breast is black and other a dark blue. I'm not thinking of anything paired back, I want a eclectic/bohemian feel. Cameras broke but here's the room before I repainted....See MoreFarrow and Ball Railings....
Comments (15)Good luck i'm sure whatever you chose will look lovely. To be honest with farrow and ball colours, in my experience, you're best to just go for a colour you like as opposed to trying to find a particular colour. In that they change colour at different times of day and in different lights - it's part of what makes them so beautiful but the problem with that is if you are trying to find a particular colour for all of the time if that makes sense? Without meaning to bore you senseless with downpipe, sometimes it looks more grey, other times more blue, then sometimes even green at times. I like this about it but can imagine it may drive some people mad. Pop your sample in you kitchen and look at it at different times. Hopefully you'll like all the variations and will be on to a winner :)...See Moreanna_silk93
