Tile suggestions
Comments (21)Hello Niamh, Have you considered continuing on with the chosen colour (tray) The tray is indeed lovely as Tops Tiles have already mentioned.. Its a sophisticated choice and with a seamless look throughout- I think could be spectacular. Also consider an option for tile design that is not just the usual.. Herringbone would add a fabulous difference and add texture and interest. You can carry this throughout from walls to floor.. Another reason for this is that you do not "zone" for want of a better way of putting it any specific areas in such an overt way, which can have a detrimental effect on the overall spatial effect visually. Also consider interesting combinations on a theme or variations on a tone with the colour. The same can be said for mixed finishes. Lastly some beautiful brass fittings could really enhance the finish... Have a look at these for some inspiration.. :)) Herringbone with slight variations in colour add interest and texture.. Shades on a theme and mixed materials add sophistication....See MoreWant to tile floor of small porch but not sure what to do with step?

Comments (2)Depends on the square meterage. Do you mean just one step or a flight of steps? Do you have a picture of the steps? To put it into perspective I had a deck removed and a patio laid (11 sq metres) and it took 8 days to complete and cost £2500 including tiles and materials. Sadly London is always more expensive of course....See MoreStepping stones or path? Or nothing??
Comments (7)As others have said, you will end up crossing the grass at the easiest, most direct route, which in summer is fine but I still think it’s worth having a path alongside the bottom borders for when it’s wet / muddy. Alternatively, stick with a path across the middle - young children needing a grassy area grow up surprisingly quickly so won’t always need that space. Consider what works for you all in the garden for the future too, not just for now. Another option - if the studio and patio are not yet in position - is to look at the possibility of locating the studio differently so that your main path route is straight across the lower garden leaving a larger lawn area....See More- 4 years ago
