Advice needed for lighting above kitchen island which contains a hob.
Comments (21)Hi @shanagarry80, thanks for your comments! I'm not at home right now so I can't be sure how big the extractor fan actually is but it is over a 90cm hob and oven, so must be at least 90cm. It doesn't look particularly large in situ and the inbuilt lights are very good for illuminating the cooking area. Have a look at Gutmann's website; as I said in one of my earlier comments, other companies do make similar extractors but our kitchen people thought this one best, however our kitchen is now 3 years old and a lot can happen in that time! Hope you have fun designing your new kitchen!...See MoreNeed help with induction hob!
Comments (7)This is a common problem with induction hobs i.e. They are too deep for a 30mm worktop with an undermounted oven. Personally I'd steer clear of the cheaper brands of induction hobs. I have a Bosch induction hob which is good but the AEG I had before that was better. The glass top on the Bosch marks easily. I'm also a lover of Neff products. Have a Neff oven....See MoreBORA induction hob with down draft
Comments (258)Latest advice appreciated on the best big induction downdraught hobs please (Berbel, Bora, Gaggenau, Siemens, Bosch or others). We want best steam and fat clearance rates, quietest motors, easy-clean (unsure re self-clean, ducted or recirulated air). Berbel's FaceBook page features lots of customer complaints regarding after-sales service and spare parts, but some seem due to Covid delays which we think is unavoidable; another mentions guests sitting "in a haze" from the recirculated air and obviously nobody wants that! We need to order very soon but definitely don't want ceiling extraction. Many thanks for prompt replies!...See MoreInduction hobs? Yay or nay?
Comments (22)Depends on how picky you are with cooking. Induction hobs are great for cleaning. You do need to note that the pan becomes your heating element. If you want the maximum performance from your induction hob, you need to match with high quality induction pans. I've personally used cheap supermarket induction pans vs £150 German pan, both the same shape and weight. The former takes 5 times longer to heat up than the latter. Please select a high quality German made induction hob....See MoreEvan
