Ideas to make this odd shaped house/bungalow more attractive?!
Comments (0)Hi all, So we are looking at purchasing this property. It has an upstairs with four bedrooms but all with sloping ceilings. That will need some attention although probably not worth considering the expense of raising the roof so it's the front appearance that we are challenged over. At the rear it has a large stunning garden, so it has lots of plus points. Any thoughts/similar pictures? Internally we'd be going for a smart modern interior so would love an exterior to match or at least be smart! Thanks in advance Noel...See MoreCan anything be done to make this large planter attractive... ?
Comments (29)Gerty, you're right. I wouldn't have "broken china" in the reach of kids...or pets! Sam, I took that photo at a flower festival. Yes, the colours of the flowers match the crockery beautifully. Apparently, it’s really easy to create - you simply put a pot upside down on a soft surface like grass, hit it gently with a hammer or mallet covered with a thick piece of cloth, then reassemble the broken pieces as you wish. Comments (7)Thanks for your help guys. This is a bit of an old photo so we’ve added some raised beds in the area in front of the outbuilding, we’re also going to add in a proper stone sett path next year. We‘re half way through converting part of the building into a chicken coop (we crazy) so we‘re in two minds about whether gravel will be suitable in front of the shed so we will see. I think I plan on recladding the shed with unpainted feather edge boards which will help. I’m also thinking of changing the door and windows to a light colour, perhaps white. Good point about the roofline, it’s rather close to the door so that might look silly. You've given me lots to think about, I’ll post an update soon....See MoreIdeas for how to make this chalet bungalow look better?
Comments (6)Would new windows be within budget? A friend I had visited recently had a white render bungalow and they changed the windows to a dark grey and I thought it was lovely. A bit like this...See MoreJonathan
