Hi, Tiles, paint, glass splashback or using the same worktop effect as a splashback all depends on personal choice as this is the space you will be using and seeing daily especially if you are a real foodie. If it is tiles you are wanting, I wouldnt tile to the top, I think it may be too much Especially with metro tiles; rather I'd prefer to line the tiles with the window bars and see if the extractor can be lowered by a notch to ensure there is continuing straight line through out. Alternatively, I'd consider a neutral coloured glass splashback behind the counter space which would co-ordinate with your walls and work surface.... Good Luck

Hi, we at Dual Designs are often designing kitchens up to the ceiling. It is usually because of the client requiring more cupboard space, along with making sure the design will suit their beautiful dream kitchen. We have designed cabinets up to the ceiling in large and small rooms, both work really well. It mainly comes down to person taste, some people would never leave a gap at the top, with the 'dust trap' word mentioned. Others who don't mind a gap would often say they can't reach high units and don't want to use a ladder. We always consider both the practical side along with the design and give an honest assessment to help our clients. I would think taking the cabinets up to the ceiling can work though a good designer will confirm this for you, so I hope that helps and good luck

Hi, Just though it may be worth a quick mention....we are having a sale. This is the perfect time to buy a new light, if you are still looking? Just thought of you and thought sale news may be helpful. I'd recommend looking at lights with chain suspensions as some lights are not suited to hanging from an angled ceiling. Round shapes are really good on angled ceilings as it doesn't have to line up with anything. I too like the industrial cluster lights but could be a little messy looking, just an opinion! @ more reasons to choose the LightingCompany.co.uk 1) We have 2 years electrical warranty on all lights 2) A No quibble returns policy for peace of mind, which is 14 days to decide after you get your new light. If you've already selected your lights we'd love to see the finished room, no matter what lights you opt for. Still very envious of your room, it's a lovely space.
