Comments (0)I've a project ..an L-shaped lounge (to be precise) I'm trying to design but struggling. Please I need your expert interior design idea. Any advise? I have shared the images below of the layout and what the room looks like. This is my new house in a few weeks. The lounge is a family room. The outcome I envision is a minimal themed living room. In other words a modern living room that manages to be light and minimalist and cosy. Other words that come to mind are elegant, sophisticated and character. Yes it will be a family room, however, it will also be functional in terms of hosting guests. I've thought about changing the colours on the wall yet. I like the idea of a neutral living room therefore the colours on the wall may change. I did hint above on light. When I say light, I'm suggesting lighting as opposed to light colours. Just to mention the living room already has abundance of this....See MoreModern Living Room in the making...

Also makes for a cosy look and feel. Currently you have a roman blind in the lounge area and this is the best treatment for that window- suggest some colour and pattern to the fabric in a new blind, coordinating with the rug. The photo suggests floor length curtains in the dining area? Is there patio doors behind? If so again new curtains would be best option - full length and with colour and pattern as in lounge. Look at Prestigious Textiles fabric ranges for ideas. I suggest floor lamps in the lounge and a couple if small side tables rather than a coffee table. Try Dwell for side tables to match with your dining table i.e. gloss white- this will pull the two areas of the room together whilst keeping them as distinct spaces. Doing this will make the room seem bigger actually....See MoreWin a FREE room design by My Bespoke Room: Vote for your favourite...

The deep teal and pale blue units pair beautifully and tie with the splashback, and vases. The added gold accents in handles, vase and tap adds some lovely metallic colour to the scheme which looks oh, so good with the teal. And finally, I love how the door frame co-ordinates with the light fitting and the socket on the island with the ovens. Superb, daring yet effective combinations!!!...See MoreCelery.
