Ideas on the best space saving clothes airer ideas please.
Comments (8)Hi. I feel your pain! These traditional ones are the best: You can leave stuff on them and pull them up with the ropes so they are out of the way, provided you have high enough ceilings. There is also this one that attaches between two walls but then doesn't look like much when it is put away. It also comes in white: http://www.brabantia.com/uk/laundry-drying-ironing/clothes-line/pull-out-clothes-lines-stainless-steel/#more Brabantia is a really good brand that comes with long guarantees and they replace parts even when it is just from wear and tear. The Victorian traditional one will last forever, it is just a matter of whether you a place where you like the look of it when it does and doesn't have clothes on it. Good luck!...See MoreLounge almost complete but need some ideas please
Comments (47)Hi thanks very much for the useful hints and tips, they've really helped! So far I've done a subtle re-jig of the decorative items on the shelves and thinned them out a bit to make it less busy (and more contemporary). I have added a cushion and throw plus a bit more useful storage baskets and so far I'm happier with it now. I also have to consider the overall flow of the room rather than 1 wall - for example when I walk into the room this wall is on the left and the sofa wall is on the right, and there was a risk that if I added shelves etc on this wall it would then unbalance the look of the room as the sofa walls are so far pretty plain. I'm getting a new sofa next month and when this arrives I'll be able to see the room in its finished form and can make any last minute adjustments!! I want to add some more shiny stuff and will get a nice chrome tray or centrepiece for my glass coffee table. Pffft, this house decor lark can take over your life sometimes :))...See MoreIdeas for non tacky-looking bath splash guards please?
Comments (3)We have that (or very similar) shower screen along with a shower curtain on our bath, it does a great job of stopping any water getting past the shower curtain. It's a standard bath though. We got it because I saw it used in a lot of hotels I stayed in and I figured they would know best the most practical/easy clean shower-over-bath solutions! We've had no mould whatsoever on it (there is no seal at the bottom edge) and it's too narrow to get in the way of anyone getting in/out of the shower. Looks really good still and it was installed over 6 years ago now!...See MoreHow to improve the look of this 1950's house? Ideas Please ....
Comments (8)Hi I have added a more recent photo to the original post with the new gates and the same door. I have also had new windows identical to the old ones. Unfortunately the wires will have to stay as that is the cat 5 for the internet. I hate the net curtains but my windows are so large (2.5 m) its like living in a goldfish bowl when people walk past, so they have to stay ...lol. Currently have an apple tree in the front garden. We are not allowed fencing or walls. Any other ideas are very much appreciated and I love the porch you have suggested but i think it would be too big for my house!...See MoreAlison B
