Kitchen dilemma!! Help please xx
Comments (3)Well, if I had a metal fabrication business, I'd do stainless steel countertops. They are hygienic, practical, look great, and bounce the light around. Or, as OnePlan suggested, you could do something different with the island - stainless steel and different colour units? As someone who used to have a really dark kitchen and hated it, I wouldn't put in dark floors if you are keeping the dark countertops as it'll suck all the light out of the room. Wood floors or a tile with a bit of warm colour in it would be great. And as for the wall colour, there are a couple of bold greens in the pictures below that would be fab or you could go for something more neutral, like an off white or grey, that'll help with the light in there. Good luck!...See MoreHELP! Colour dilemma - what colour walls with a beech unit?
Comments (3)Might sound crazy but a subtle two tone might work not colour blocking but a gradual subtle shade diff a soft off white blue grey teal on top that will not fight against the very bright white window frames and keeping a small room light.. and then getting to a soft blue grey darker teal colour with a soft graded border. And consider painting the unit soft white with an all surface soft white mat or soft sheen paint. Pop up a large piece B&W family photo or a family picked piece of wall art or something wacky like a giant gold fish on a white background framed in a thin bright orange frame and job done...or look up dark snugs/dens with rich bold colours can work well if done correctly .. good luck.....See Morenew kitchen plan dilemma , please help
Comments (2)Bumping your question, but I would say you probably could. Would be useful if you posted a drawing of the space, with doors and windows. https://www.houzz.co.uk/magazine/ask-an-expert-do-i-have-room-for-a-kitchen-island-stsetivw-vs~50404095...See MoreHelp with run of kitchen units, please.
Comments (9)Ellie - what don’t you like about the design you have had done in a shop ? If you have a prep island too - that solves the lack of worktop issue ? The boiler and WM are hidden in the tall cabinet I assume ? It all looks workable to me - did you ask for a drainer on the sink? If you changed that for no drainer - it would give you more worktop - and you could use drainer matts if you ever washed up by hand. That way you could have longer walk cabinets over the current drainer too for more storage....See MoreDaisy England
