what colour paint to have

Hi I can't decide on a colour to have on my kitchen walls . the cupboards are gloss pebble with a darker grey island and white stone work tops any ideas please

Go with your instincts! You have a fairly monochrome room at the moment (love the flying ducks btw ;) so you can browse for some inspiration - try searching for painted hutch/dresser on Pinterest and you will get thousands of images, then choose whatever takes your fancy. I have a business refinishing furniture and at the moment I can sell anything as long as its grey, so if that's what you want to do you will be in good company :D The darker gunmetal greys look very effective, also indigo blues. Don't worry about fashion though as the beauty of paint is it can always be stripped off or painted over if you change your mind. Equally don't feel guilty about painting/altering the dresser either as I couldn't give it away in it's original finish these days :0 Good luck!

A tricky one as lots of bits to consider, window colour against roof, the weatherboard etc. One thing I decided ( personal preference ), was that everything had to be the one colour. So, the garage, the weatherboard, the door on the right, the walls etc. Making everything one colour gave it both cohesion and presence. It makes it seamless and larger looking. I have to say, I though I would like grey and didn't:- I did like white:- I swayed between white and Sandstone. I think if it were me i'd go for Sandstone, because the white was a little harsh, although I did really like it. So it's a tuffy.

Thanks Jonathan. I’m not totally adverse to the yellow and perhaps your right less yellowish window might help crisp up. I like the warmth statement and blending with greenery that current colour has but it needs painting badly and so having moved in last year feel need to make a change and loose yellow. I suppose as it is tired and everything in the house is either yellow or green (avocado) and tired!!! I’ll look at greys with off white windows as you suggest......
