Colours with wooden flooring

Hey

We have just bought our first house and I am trying to think of colour scheme/designs for each room. The wooden floors in living room are quite a warm colour, can anyone recommend what colour to paint walls, colour of sofa and rug would go best (furniture in picture isn’t ours)

any help appreciated, thanks!

I'd steer towards blue or bluey-toned greys to create a contrast against the orangey colour of the floor.

I don`t know about the colour, but keep in mind that wood flooring requires a proper maintenance. Proper care and regular maintenance are essential to prolong the lifespan of your flooring. In addition floor sanding is the best procedure for your hardwood floors.

Hello, First, let me tell you that your Kitchen looks great and it's also spacious. I really like it! When you said, you would prefer to have your space light and that you prefer light coloured floor, the first idea it came in my mind it was the Scandinavian Kitchen style, where mostly white or light coloured floor is being used. I very much like white floor or some light grey/brown shades as you can see on the second image. Light oak it's also good idea, however if the furniture is also light oak colour it could happen that your space goes flat and boring. Don't forget that you can always decorate your space with some ornaments to make it look more interesting. Hope this helps! Best wishes

There is an open plan room in my apartment that serves as the kitchen and dining/living room. Currently the kitchen zone has tile floors and the dining/living zone have 16mm engineered wood floors. The entire room has underfloor heating but it is split into two zones. I've decided to update the kitchen and have the same floors throughout the room. The current floors are 15+ years old so the wood has a few scratches and some dark damaged bits. I don't know if it would be better to refinish the existing wooden floor zone and then just add a colour matched new wooden floor in the kitchen zone or to replace the whole lot. Any advice?

Thanks guys that a great help, I love the first two blue colours they look great. I don’t have any furniture as it stands as we’re in rented accommodation so not sure what colour sofa and rug to buy? I am liking the blue walls.

what about white walls and blue furniture?

Is it a light grey on the walls now? Do they need painting? If not, I think they'd work well with blue furniture. What kind of style do you like?
