How To Measure Your Windows For Curtains Made Easy
Comments (1)great tips ! thanks for sharing !...See MoreVery high window, can't afford tailored curtains
Comments (13)When hanging curtains for clients I always have the hems just hovering above the floor so would consider your curtains too short. From the photo it looks like you cannot lower the pole position, so letting down the hems is your best solution. Leaving the curtains in situ, carefully unpick the hem and iron out crease lines (ironing board can be positioned at the window), you can then turn a new minimum hem using iron-on hem tape. Ideally your curtains should be no more than an inch off the floor to give them the made-to-measure look....See MorePlease Help needed with curtain length & curtain type
Comments (8)I tend to prefer long curtains personally as well but if you think that brushing past them would annoy you then I’d go for short. Roman blinds could be an option as well if they will tuck under the pelmet, I do feel that you’d need a double layer approach with perhaps a roller blind in the window to block out the light tho. Comments (8)By putting the curtains in the recess you will lose a lot of light. I suggest you measure how much space the current curtains take up on the outside and then block out that amount of space with cardboard to see if you are happy to lose that much light. Personally I would go with a more tailored look such as roman blinds above the outside the recess or a pelmet with roller blinds behind which will retain the light but give the cleaner look you want....See MoreRandeep Gill
