I need help with flooring and decor ideas for my through lounge
Comments (12)houssaon I sat with a piece of it on my floor this morning and I screamed to myself 'what am I doing , Ive got rid of an axminster for this ! ' so I went to the shop and have found a neutral brown carpet 80% wool which suits a large rug I have and should bring out the colours in my new suite , I am glad I took the rug with me because the small chair is a near match to the suite, and the rug/ chair look nice together . I was tired and stressed late last night having taken up my old carpet last night in 1 piece in case I ever thought about putting it back ! everything now happens Thursdaywhen the carpet is fit and the dining suite and lounge suite is installed Ill upload. youve asked about my style ? Im going for the stressed look ! no I want a classy look but also minimalistic due to it not being a big through lounge thanks for your comments to date ps anyone want an axminster !...See MoreNot sure what colour cushions will suit my brown leather sofas
Comments (39)Hello christjne, I am just getting a few images for you.. Hold on.. Oka do some that are rather good.. Also their faux flower collection is really good. This one is from them and also their velvet in Porridge and Pale Sage could be nice along with Mole colour and Caviar is one they have too that would work possibly... .. There is also the option of throws and they have one in Mole and you could also think of stones and other shades of earthy tones... Group with 1 plain mole colour to give accent but I'd say 1 of each together on 1 or 2 sides and a throw or two for the sofa.. You may find some others you like too.. They also have Mirrors and the Cesario large could be very nice, it has a nice bevelled frame with dark wood and accent of gold that would be gr8 with the dark sofa.. All depends on budget as I have many more suggestions including antiques but for something under the one roof as it were... : ))...See MoreWhat colour for kitchen cabinets and blinds
Comments (19)God I love your cabinets and worktop - don't change a thing! You could add pops of colours - almost anything will look good as a nice neutral pallet. Do you like maybe a soft lavender which always goes nice with the soft grey-green of cupboards? F&B Elephants Breath has a hint of it. I'm glad to see everyone saying leave cupboards as they are. They are gorgeous. Hope you find inspiration from some of these comments and this amazing website. Good luck,...See MoreOur lounge/ drawing room - need inspiration please!!!
Comments (16)Hi Diana. Re your windows I would look at something like this (dining room pics in link) http://www.drivenbydecor.com/2015/05/window-treatments-tricky-recessed-corner-windows.html 0r have a voile blind inside the recess and the curtains hung outside to give more height to the room. I'd go for a pole that doesn't contrast with the wall colour. Farrow and ball blackened may work for the walls (which way does the room face? I'm assuming some of the pics are a little dark as you didn't have any light behind you when taking the pic?!). Were you planning on dressing the feature window? As you've got cool and warm greys I'd layer them so a warm grey sofa with a cool grey or maybe blue ikat cushion. I'd have seating at right angles to the fire, sofa to the right of the fire with a lamp table closest to the fire and 2 accent chairs opposite, patterned ones might be nice. I'd go for large art over the fire rather than a mirror as you've got the window, perhaps a landscape. In terms of the look you want, perhaps look at velvet for the sofa. Lamps will add cosiness, a driftwood lamp will give the natural look. Add texture for the seating, perhaps a patterned cushion in front of a textured one and a textured throw on the other arm of the sofa. Also use plants and perhaps some faux flowers (I like oka faux hydrangea but it needs to be mixed with foliage). Perhaps a brass glass coffee table to add some warmth with some coffee tables books and the flowers!...See Morechicdub
