Advise on kitchen splashback / tiles please
Comments (28)Pity you have decided against glass in favour of tiles. We have just done our kitchen and I wanted an easy-to-clean surface for the splash back, so the rough surface of grouting around tiles, and also the indentations on some patterned tiles (which collect grease and grime) ruled them out for me! I went for glass, which the manufacturers matched exactly to the duck egg paint colour on the other walls (just gave them a product code of the paint), and although the initial outlay for the glass was expensive, the surface is so brilliant to keep clean and it looks fab as well. I would definitely recommend, and you could match it to, say, your lovely pink/purple ceiling lights ......See MoreTiles and splashback to brighten kitchen!
Comments (4)The 'metro' tiles would work well with the cream. The example at the Topps Tiles site is very similar (http://www.toppstiles.co.uk/tprod966/metro-white-tile.html) and will probably help you decide. The 'metro' tiles glazing will 'amplify' any light that is available in your kitchen. The pattern of the metro tile also suits the 'line' design on your cupboards. I would suggest a very plain light grey tile without any grain for the floor to add just a little touch of a contemporary modern flair to the whole composition. The light grey will help create a 'base' to the whole layout and also help 'sober' down the cupboard and tile colours. I hope this helps....See MoreHelp! Kitchen splashback ideas
Comments (14)Thank you all for the very helpful suggestions. I've ordered some samples: https://tileweb.co.uk/globe-25x75-gris-gloss-glazed-ceramic-tile.html and https://tileweb.co.uk/globe-25x75-blanco-gloss-glazed-ceramic-tile.html Both are gloss and tend to reflect the light, these 2 tiles were picked mainly for their pattern and size at 25x75 to cover the overall 48cm height of the splashback, I'll see how they look like with my layout. I also liked the splashback of the first picture sent by Sonia, which company was that from? As Lynn suggested, a darker silver grey colour or any darker grout matching the same tile, or even no grout at all would be my choice. For now, I wish you all a Happy new year. Thank you again :) Fab...See MoreMatt or Gloss Splashback
