which kitchen wall tiles shall I use
Comments (9)I love the tile tiles (in fact it is the thing I like most about the kitchen) but I think that with black granite it may be a little dark especially with a pale cabinet. Could you have a pale worktop? Given your cabinet and worktop choices I would think a metro tile would be a good choice. Given you are after a modern look I wonder if this is the best cabinet and worktop to choose plus there are some design tweaks that could be made. In my opinion the fridge looks odd flanked by cabinets. Integrated fridges looks more modern but if you are set on the American style fridge consider having larder units and the fridge doesn't have to be completely central. I think it is not practical to have glass cabinets both sides of the hob (because of cooking steam). It would be good to have smaller wall cabinets both sides here so the extractor is not crowded. Lastly this seems to be an extended kitchen but its likely it has no more units than the original pre extension. Would a design with an island be better? If you did have an island you would have more room to have a few things that would make this design more modern such as two built under ovens rather than one small double, you could have a wider hob and extractor, an integrated microwave so that the worktop is not cluttered...See MoreUsing bathroom tiles in kitchen?
Comments (1)The tiles do look like bathroom tiles so I’m not sure. Lovely kitchen by the way. You could tile just behind the cooker and the sink, and as long as the paint is a wipeable kitchen paint you should be ok. Here’s a few tiling ideas...See MoreNeed help choosing wall tiles in kitchen
Comments (9)Well further to my earlier comments I cannot get my husband to agree on a neutral scheme for the tiles on our utility room and kitchens (units all light grey with a dark grey island) and white sparkle quartz worktops. I was looking at Chevrons from the Equipe Range that come in Dark Grey/Light Grey/Black/Griege and some pastels. Hubby prefers colour, green or blues and I want neurtals so can add pops of colour in the blinds and curtains in the areas adjoining the kitchen (dining/snug sitting room), also dining chairs, rug etc. It makes my head go crazy trying to visualise coloured wall tiles in all of this (perhaps apart from the splash back around the cooker area). Has anyone done this successfully with coloured tiles (I think patterns too much). I thought the chevrons with a different colour grout (dark grey tile/white grout etc) looked good, as below. Colours in rest of the house because we have a lot of oak will be teals, blues with a few other pops of bright colours. Thanks in advance!...See MoreWhat is the best paint to use to cover ceramic shiny wall tiles..?
Comments (2)A hammer, chisel and then plaster skim... Seriously - I have yet to speak with a customer who has tried such "refreshes" who has been happy with the result. There is always a first time for everything, though......See MoreSimona Andrei
