Hague Blue bedroom

I really want to paint my new bedroom in F&B’s Hague Blue but I’m having a bit of a design wobble! The rest of our house is very light and bright with a definite leaning towards the neutral greys and stronger grey feature woodwork. I want to be bold and create a cosy room with an Art Deco feel. I’ve already purchased the Hicks Hexagon wallpaper and know that it will look fab with the dark blue but I’m a little scared and my husband isn’t convinced. Can anyone help with photos of their schemes please?

Here's an image I found for you. Think that it looks beautiful with white and mustard accents. I'd probably go for a slightly softer white.

It also depends on how light and bright the room is to start with. And it's just paint. If you hate it, you can always paint over it.

Don't know where you're planning to use the wallpaper, but I quite like the idea of wallpapering the wall opposite the bed instead of the headboard wall. That way you'll have something light to wake up too, whilst still having a dark, cosy cocoon-like atmosphere.

Great work so far. I love the colour of the blue on the wall, the painting, and the chest of drawers. Are any of these pictures appealing? I'm thinking a bit of yellow would be nice to add or you can just add varying shades and textures of neutrals in the bedding, throws, and curtains or blinds. I've also included a couple with bronze as previously suggested.

Oh my gosh, I just read bedroom, sorry. I got some gorgeous real linen bedding from Ada and Ina, might be worth checking out. Also, a Moroccan berber would look great.

Victoria - how funny!!!! Ours is the back bedroom of a Victorian terrace. We’re doing 3 walls white and 1 in the de Nimes - the same one as you, behind the headboard! Although I like the Purbeck Stone and the Worsted, I think it’s maybe too muted and a different / more traditional feel against the crisp white. (Although i’m absolutely no expert!!!). I think we’re going to keep our inherited oak bed as it is and then possible go darker on the painted bits. We might even go completely opposite and head whiter.... Ours is just a spare room, so not particularly important or with any need to impress a teenage boy!!! On a slightly related matter, my son converted to a grown up room a few years ago and we kept it quite simple with Lamp Room Grey walls and white furniture. Keeping it simple has stood the test of time. My daughter (with the Purbeck Stone) had her room done about a year ago with more muted colours, including painted furniture. She announced last week that she already wants to change it!!
