How should I lay out my 'interesting' London flat? - Advice needed
Comments (4)Hi. I would do something like the attached which isn't particularly to scale but existing bed 2 has been reduced to 10x10. I'd only make the bathroom a bit bigger unless you want to widen it by taking a little from the new Master bedroom. Move the bath down 20-30cm and have shelves built in floor to ceiling for storage. If you wanted you could have pocket doors from the lounge through to the office (with sofa bed) so you can open the whole lot up for entertaining etc. if you do that just think about resale ie accessing bedroom from lounge unless you do convert the loft so it won't end up being a bedroom. I'd buy a unit to house the tv and books. Maybe think about a dining table that can double up as prep area. In any case I'd get one with a bench seat that slides under on the kitchen side to save space. I'm not a pro though so just my thoughts!...See MoreWith a blank canvas, how would you lay out your open plan living area?
Comments (18)I had a similar design quandary - hunt for OnePlan on Houzz. She has a sliding scale of design charges, and we paid for a couple of hours design work. She came up with several designs for us, and we were able to make some changes which she incorporated into the final sketch. We're currently getting quotes for the actual build....See MoreHelp on living room lay out and colour scheme
Comments (7)Hi Angela, I think I would look at a modern grey and white look. Maybe with a darker green used in a few accessories and plants which will soften the design look (important with hard floors). If you don't have furniture then maybe consider a single room redesign interior design service. Everything is then taken into account to ensure lighting, colours, furniture and space planning as well as styling. I hope that helps. Thanks, Gina...See Moredesign lay out advice.
Comments (3)Lots of lovely options would be available with this whole ground floor !! If the courtyard will be built in with thermo efficient glazed roofing - that will help keep cold pockets at bay. Otherwise exterior grade doors to courtyard will still be required. Would be a fab project to work on ! There’s some past projects of ours on our pro page ... last one I did with an internal courtyard was in Zambia - I don’t think I had permission to use that on our promo sites sadly ( we respect client wishes re their finished projects ) that was, ironically, for a cooler spot to sit in !...See MoreHU-477640226
