living room dilemma! ! help!
Comments (16)be careful about painting the walls too light when you have such dark furniture- most people think it will make the room lighter but in fact will just make the sofa look darker and I suspect you won't like the contrast. I would choose Charleston grey for the walls, Strong white for the paintwork and coving then Clunch for the ceiling and above the picture rail. Don't forget you will need an accent colour- teal, plum, yellow, Navy, in fact loads of colours work. You will also need some pattern. Bring the pattern and colour in through pictures, lamp shades, Rugs, cushions, throws etc....See MoreSofa Dilemma help needed please
Comments (4)Hi Helen, I think you should consider adding a splash of colour to your neutrals. Maybe something warm and natural, keeping with the theme. I think mustard yellow, sage or greenery would go very well with the colours you've gone for and the stag cushion :) or if you want to go funky, why don't you go for bold geometric cushions:...See MoreLiving Room Furniture Dilemma & Decor
Comments (8)I think I prefer the Ikea sofa as the Next one looks a little bulky for the room, washable covers also sound good. I do prefer the Ikea sofa I added but yours should work too, they're identical except for the arms. I also think they work well with the chairs, a different style is good. Just personal opinion but again for me if you're going industrial I would go for a wood floor and it adds so much warmth to a room, LVT may be a softer option? (Last try I promise!). Not sure if you like any of this? I didn't find cushions to match just in case you hate this one and it takes a while looking! It's impossible to choose art for somebody but you may like these. Junique and desenio are also good for affordable prints. Neon signs are also a good way to personalise a room if that's your thing i would add lots of texture for accessories, I think you need to get the furniture agreed first though. I would go for a light neutral for the walls. Need to know which way the room faces and you could work with any undertone in the navy paint...See MoreHelp living room dilemma
Comments (13)Hi Sharon, I like the idea of herringbone. But I don't believe the arch/flooring decision need to be related. It's a modern looking arch not the 'traditoonal 90s' one so looks fine. I agree with Ellie to treat the rooms as two and have armchairs to enjoy the garden view. Re curtains...is the blue on the dresser wall the same blue as the one on fireplace wall please? Can't quite tell from pics......See MoreUser
