Help choosing colour of kitchen units?!
Comments (9)Yes, I have a sample and I did take it to Ikea. But it all just looked weird, as ikea is all artificial lighting! No natural light. I'm thinking of going back with sample and taking a door outside so check. I think white units will not match the cream :( I will post a photo of the silestone tomorrow, see what you think! Thanks :)...See MoreHELP! Colour dilemma - what colour walls with a beech unit?
Comments (3)Might sound crazy but a subtle two tone might work not colour blocking but a gradual subtle shade diff a soft off white blue grey teal on top that will not fight against the very bright white window frames and keeping a small room light.. and then getting to a soft blue grey darker teal colour with a soft graded border. And consider painting the unit soft white with an all surface soft white mat or soft sheen paint. Pop up a large piece B&W family photo or a family picked piece of wall art or something wacky like a giant gold fish on a white background framed in a thin bright orange frame and job done...or look up dark snugs/dens with rich bold colours can work well if done correctly .. good luck.....See MorePlease help with kitchen unit colours!
Comments (34)Should I have a light over dining table? Hello Houzzers, Can you advise please? Our kitchen extension is nearing the end of our building work phase and I need to decide on final lighting positions. It is a very big space so we are having an island with obligatory 3 pendant lights over. We will also have a dining table in the garden room end of the build. The electrician has left wires for a pendant light to go over the table but needs the final position before ceiling is plastered. Now I'm thinking that having a light will limit where we can put the table, eg if we want to move it in the future and also, (as I've not even thought about table size or bought one yet) its difficult at the moment to give a definitive position for the light. The kitchen is about 3weeks away from being fitted. So should I ditch the idea of a light over dining table?? Thanks in advance for your help!...See MoreFloor colour with grey units. Comments (16)Unless you particularly like the desaturated look of all greys, my instinct would be to go with a more natural shade of oak for the flooring. https://www.howdens.com/joinery/floors/flooring/vinyl-flooring/quick-step-livyn-single-plank-natural-oak-luxury-vinyl-flooring-2105m-pack-sdh3680 Possibly even this; https://www.howdens.com/joinery/floors/flooring/vinyl-flooring/quick-step-livyn-single-plank-dark-brown-oak-luxury-vinyl-flooring-2105m-pack-sdh3684 for more contrast. The shelves are fine in whitewash, painting them may make the room feel smaller. Its better to let your items on display be the focus, than the shelves themselves. The darker bifold look more modern, and add extra dimension to the space. Depending on where the other window is, and how out of place it may look from the outside, you could replace it to go with the doors, or have the internal frame painted to match....See Moreminipie
