Quooker Fusion tap vs other hot water taps

Is the Quooker tap worth the money? We had a new kitchen fitted at home. And a boiling/hot water tap was always going to be my treat.
We have had upstands on that limits us to any taps where the leaver needs to go backwards toward the wall. So I was limited to the Quooker and being the most expensive I reluctantly brought it. I then also found the Abode 3 in 1 where the leaver doesn’t go to the wall but that is in brushed nickel and I feel the tap is lovely but it’s just the colour as it looks a touch my bronze.
The Quooker cost £1,370 (with a cold water filter too)
The Abode cost £600
Big price difference is the Quooker worth it? Is your opinion go for the Abode and try to get over the colour difference between the plug waste (which is stainless steel).
Things I like about the Quooker is that it lights up. And looks neat. Although I did expect it to be taller.
I’m a perfectionist so want this just right but the Quooker price does niggle me to spend that much on a tap.
(Can return either tap with 30 days so brought both to compare looks)

Boiling Water Tap
Comments (16)Holly - the boiling water couldn't be easier to use, you briskly move the chunky collar up and down twice (double push), which kind of unlocks it and then you just turn the collar to the right and the boiling water comes out. When the water running is boiling, the chunky collar is illuminated in red. If you have filtered water option, you hold the chunky ring down for a short time and then turn to the right, the collar illuminates blue. The two water functions (boiling/filtered and normal hot/cold) are controlled in totally different ways so, it's most unlikely you'd inadvertently get boiling when you weren't expecting it. Also if you have the hose, your not able to use it with the boiling water. Comments (42)Hi Aideen, I went for a Franke 4-1 tap last March, and this March had a Kinetico water softener put in, had the softened water line attached to the ‘normal’ hot and cold and kept original hard water for the filtered cold/boiling side of the tap. All good. With the water softener you can literally feel the difference immediately, at first when washing my hands I almost felt like I had to keep rinsing as it felt so creamy! Huge difference to the limescale, the shower head which usually would get clogged up is completely clear, no more pinging off the limescale from the rubber bits!! Definitely makes a difference to cleaning the bath, sink etc, very glad we had it done. Shampoo lathers up without using much, and skin feels softer. Was £1600, so it’s not cheap but I don’t regret it one bit....See MoreBoiling water taps!
Comments (14)Hannah - I don’t blame you! The cost difference is huge. I was seriously impressed with the one my brother got. They’ve had it less than a year, so I can’t comment on its longevity - whereas my Quooker is almost 14 years old and still going strong! We’re also a bit rubbish with anything to do with maintenance and we’ve only had it serviced once in that time. Comments (24)Hi Sara, my kitchen designer (who works for Wickes) says that he’s been told that the sort of sink you chose is not recommended because the boiling water might damage the sink (I asked him because I’d requested the same as yours, as I’m getting the bronze quooker).
