What rug with yellow & grey floral wallpaper

Hi all, we're currently redecorating our living room with a complete restyle. We've picked a yellow & grey floral paper and w have wooden floors. I'm looking for any advice on what colour/style of rug might suit. Thanks in advance

Sounds like your wallpaper is quite busy so I would keep the rug fairly simple not to take away from that. I would go with a plain grey or one with a a very subtle print. Key is to go with something understated I feel.

Thank you! I've seen a range of rugs I like but most are patterned and I wasn't sure there would be too much going on.

I was looking for advice on exactly the same dilemma! We have chosen Orla Kiely Giant Abacus for a feature wall in the living room. Grey background, cream petals with an olive centre. We have a cream carpet and cream leather suite with mid grey armchair and room doesn't have big windows, so trying to maximise the light. What colour would you suggest for the other walls? Hi All, at long last I got around to uploading the picture of the floor, rug, curtains and wallpaper, the curtains have a more silver tone to them that picks up the silver flecks in the wallpaper. I think I am leaning towards a light pink paint (Georgian Mist) , there is a light pink in the middle of the flowers similar to this. I love the idea of the black lamp to tie in with the black bed. What colour should the window sills and surrounds be, they are wood also what colour accessories, photo frames, pictures etc. I love the light pink chair and bedding but was wondering what ceiling lamp would go best, I'm having difficulty sourcing wicker one locally. Thank you for all the comments! We decided against green partly as I think it would be too much of a contrast - I don’t want the room to be even more fussy - and partly because we have dark blue sofas, and I’m not a fan of blue and green. The pink is a good rich tone and matches the pink in the wallpaper well. I’ve tried to pick out three key colours for the room - pink, blue and white (or orange), plus some highlight colours - yellow, teal and orange (or white). The thinking behind this is that at the top and bottom of the walls the main colours in the wallpaper are pink, orange and white (which also makes me unsure that green would work at skirting level, while the pink might be less drastic). We already have some pink in the room (lamps, cushions) and it works. So there is a kind of method to my madness! I love the idea of floor-length curtains and was originally planning on that but they can’t be hung around the window seat. Thank you for all the help and advice - I wish I’d come on here years ago as this room has been a real headache! We love the wallpaper though and are determined to make it work. The blinds have already been ordered in the fabric shown!!!!!! - I’ll report back with a photo. If it’s a disaster I guess I can make a lot of cushions... x
