It's the original parquet flooring which we re-stained.

Great apartment. I would agree with the previous comment about getting an interior designer on board, preferably one whom will pass on their trade discounts! I also agree with other comments re zoning, scale etc. I'd also decide what you want to do with the kitchen before looking at the rest of the room as it's a little awkward. I don't know if it would be possible to get a flue in the roof for a suspended log burner? Alternatively which I prefer (but would get a render done first!) is to have a double sided bioethanol fireplace finished in a polished plaster to add texture. I'm not sure what the 5 doors/panels are but could they be covered in a leather/shagreen leather again for texture and interest. You're lacking walls to add art so you could look at suspending double sided art from the ceiling (last pic just to give an idea!) or add sculptures on plinth/s or an art rug (if in budget Knots rugs do some fantastic ones). I'd also look at adding pendant lights. I'd also go for the same style blinds to what they have in place now. If you add lots of textures elsewhere then curtains aren't really needed and I'm not sure they'd enhance such a great feature. Perhaps look into solar window film to make the light more bearable and prevent fading? Does the balcony wrap around as potted plants would also add privacy?

We’d definitely recommend plains, patterns come in and out of fashion, whereas colour is timeless. Choosing a plains with a great texture also adds some sophistication. I’d go for oranges and yellows, they’ll really compliment the teal. Here’s a mood board we put together for a customer last week working with yellows Fabric-wise I’d recommend something with structure, wool based fabrics are really coming back in. Have you collected any images of rooms you like and think would suit this room? Might help the guys that are good at suggesting room schemes suggest stuff that will suit. Also what do you intend to use the room for? Do you need bookcases or a music area or a table to read at or play games at? And got to say that I’m sure the room scheme will always play second fiddle to the amazing view! Would definitely be making sure whatever you do doesn’t obscure it :) And it’s a lovely size so I’m sure it will be a lovely room to use.

I think you could go various ways. I like the rug, can it go under the sofa feet? (Hard to tell how wide it is from the photo). The art seems a bit small, it often works better if it's hung just a few inches over the sofa to connect with it. I'm not sure if this art is big enough though as 4 seater sofa sizes vary. I'd probably repeat the brass for a coffee table or floor lamp and then I've picked up colours in the art for cushions but maybe vary the texture with linen etc rather than just all velvet. I think it will look great once furnished and accessorised 😊
