Possible to lower a manhole/inspection chamber? Is it pricey? Help!

Hi!

We want to build a garage and create a driveway in our garden. But there is a drain in the way that is about a foot or maybe 8-10 inches above ground. Picture of the thing in question!


Is it possible to have this lowered? Do I need to contact my water supplier and is it expensive? Or can we hire someone to do this local to us?

    Get who ever is building the garage to move it- it’s not a big job for them

    As Jonathan says, your builders can incorporate it into your build quite easily. You could also call your local water co for advice if you are worried. It’s amazing how a good builder can deal with issues that we find insurmountable!
