Need help with feature wall in kitchen
Comments (42)Wow, you have done a great job already with your kitchen. You have had so many great ideas re. the wall there isn't anything on that I could add. To solve the problem of the chairs hitting the wall I would either opt for a huge floor to ceiling mirror which would encourage one and all to be careful when leaving their seat or my preferred option would be to replace the chairs on that side with a bench. I'd cover the bench in either shabby chic cushions or a deer or sheepskin rug for comfort and I'd play with table decor. Get chair covers for the redundant chairs and use them in the bedrooms - one in each corner. Then for formal dinner parties or for when the table is extended you simply remove the covers and add them to the table and you can still use the bench if the table is extended....See MoreF&B colour to complement (or detract from) built-in mahogany furniture
Comments (10)Thank you all for your input. I need to perfect the art of closing one eye to block out other colours! I was not good at this! I think you need bigger sample cards than I used. I couldn't paint on the wall as there's currently wallpaper there. My local F&B stockist suggested Shaded White which is a nice, "safe" neutral I think and as the room is quite dark, it seems to work better than the greyer shades I was trying. I guess sometimes what you want is different from what will actually work best and Shaded White seems a good compromise. I'm delighted to have got input from you and I'll post some pictures later of items I'm considering using in the room in the hope of some more advice....See MoreWhat colour blinds?
Comments (2)Agree with CreatePerfect, Purple is going to be too darkening on the room in general and should be reserved for the accent colours, cushions etc. ( Love all the colour fabrics shown in the first pic and would pick cushions in all colours used ). I think the blush is a good medium and will go with all., I had a quick look on blinds 2 go and they have two fabrics called blush, you can't tell the difference on the website, so i'd always order swatches. If you don't like plain, i did find one that encapsulated all your colours in a leaf design, and also one with blush and purple in a more modern design. As everyone likes something different, it's all a matter of personal choice. I like the plain blush's but also the leaf print as it's fresh and airy, flavia grape...See MoreWhat colour blinds?
Comments (7)I like the grey/purple combo, but try and find patterns with the different colour ways. Put the swatches up on the window to see how they look in the light. Don't be afraid of a pattern but you might want something that isn't too dominant especially in the lounge. It probably needs to be more relaxing?...See MoreRibena Drinker
