Most boring entrance
Comments (2)If you can spend some money, how about wainscotting down the stairs, still keep the paint neutral but would add interest. And/or pull off the carpet and add wood stair treads with a nice patterned runner. Or for just plain impact replace the tile on the landing with some colourful pattered tile. You could use some expensive tile since the area is so small. I was thinking sort of a Spanish flair. And replace the hand rail with something more substantial and paint it out. :-)...See MoreEntrance lobby
Comments (12)No worries :-) I have some other ideas too: you could paint the bottom half (or just below the half point) in a different colour (maybe a soft grey green?) and hang a collection of square mirrors, but on their points so they mimic the window in the front door, on the wall at different heights. You could use a piece of wood as a bench that goes from wall to wall and put baskets/wooden crates/boxes under it for storage. Or: wallpaper the back wall only in a striking wallpaper (I'd use a wallpaper mural in soft colours, I'll see if I can find a pic of an example)....See MoreInspirational flooring for every room in your home

When it comes to décor and furnishings these choices can be easy as there are lots of sources of inspiration, trends to follow and distinctive styles to decide between. When it comes to finding the right flooring for each room in your home, we can provide the source of inspiration, as we have hundreds of floors to choose from. Whether you’re looking for flooring for your hallway, your bathroom or your living room, here are some ideas for inspirational flooring for every room in your home. Hallway Flooring Make the entrance to your home set the tone for the rest of the décor with a quality and luxurious engineered wood floor. This area of your home sees a lot of traffic, so it makes sense to have a hard wearing, low maintenance floor in place which will give you years of use. Depending on the size of your hallway and how much light it gets, you will normally decide if light or dark wood is best for you. For inspirational light wood flooring for your hallway, we think you’ll love the Chelsea Engineered Herringbone Parquet Flooring White Wash Oak floor, for a striking and elegant way to create a sophisticated entrance to your home. Find all our hallway flooring options online. Kitchen & Utility Room Flooring Your kitchen and utility room floors need to be capable of withstanding everyday wear and tear, as well as an increased resistance to water damage, which is very damaging to wood floors due to their absorbent properties. For this reason, a good quality laminate wood floor, like the Hydro Guard Walnut laminate is a great choice for both style and practicality. You may also be interested in a tile effect flooring, which offers the same great features as the laminate floor but with a stylish tile replica finish. Our customers love this light and bright Balterio Purestone Limestone in White for transforming their kitchen. Living Room Flooring Your living room is a space where you’ll want to invest in quality pieces, as you’ll be spending a lot of time in this room relaxing or entertaining. Depending on your personal décor preferences, you can choose to go as minimalistic or as rustic as you like – and we have inspirational floors to suit both tastes, and everything in between. For a super sleek and contemporary living room, why not consider this Elite Stone Light Screed tile structure floor which replicates a natural looking stone floor? At the other end of the scale, we have cosy, rustic looking floors guaranteed to bring warmth, character and charm to your living room – just take a look at the Axion Avignon Oak floor for starters, which is one of our bestsellers. Inspirational flooring for every room in your home Bathroom Flooring Always be certain the floor you are buying is suitable for a bathroom by checking the individual product specification – otherwise you’ll end up ruining a good floor beyond all repair. Your bathroom floor needs to be water resistant and able to withstand heavy water exposure and steam without delaminating. We love this Balterio Grande Wide Oak Laminate Flooring against the crisp clean white bathroom suite for a contemporary yet comfortable style bathroom. Bedroom Flooring Your bedroom flooring tastes are completely personal to you – where do you start? Colour, board thickness, wood species, finish type and shade are all to be considered. Comments (15)Hi, reading that you can extend the left wall by 200mm and your preference is to move the door could work to your advantage as you could build a hidden sliding door ‘wall’ externally allowing the door to slide within this partition wall without removing the actual current brick (guessing its brick) wall Then rotate the sink (90 degrees) and mount on the existing wall, possibly reducing its size? as it appears to be a distance from that wall anyway! Then as the toilet is currently sitting on the left of the sink, you can move to a more central position towards the shower as I understand is what you are wanting to do as the soil pipe or plumbing is going that way. Thus creating more space between the wc and shower cubicle entrance. Tip: (no pressure though) When you ‘fill’ the existing door cap you can incorporate recessed shelving for your shower ‘things’ etc and also by placing some LEDS recessed in each top of how many shelves you decide to have creating a nice ambiance 😉 when using the room. Have these switched on separately (all) say with a single shower recessed light above as it will also help just popping in during the night 😉 visit without the full array of lights being used!...See More- 4 years ago
