Wall colour advice for lagoon worktop

Hello. We have just built a south facing kitchen extension with velux windows. It will have a fairly pure white kitchen from diy kitchens and silestone lagoon worktop. Can anyone recommend a white for the walls/ceiling that would accompany these well? Should we make them the same white or different? I don't really want any yellow tones and we have a contemporary, scandi look in the rest of the house. We will be hanging the tom dixon copper pendant. Thanks in advance!

Hi Sophie, I have just built a house with a south-east facing kitchen with a lot of glass. The kitchen is white gloss with white quartz work tops and an engineered oak floor. I have painted it Dulux brilliant white (along with much of the rest of the house) and have also used a copper pendent and copper mirrored splash back. I'm delighted with the brilliant white as it takes on different tones to reflect and harmonise with other items in the rooms and the changing light as the sun moves around. Good luck with your project - it looks lovely.

Thanks, but there isn´t really a windo sill. All there is is the thickness of the widow surround, which is a couple of millimeters. I really would like to find something htat will just go along the join where the walls meet the worktop. I´m sure there must be some kind of trim that is commonly used.

Hi Evie. I would actually keep the wall colour as close to the units as possible or even the same to make the space feel bigger. I'd look at strong white for the walls or perhaps purbeck for the units and ammonite on the walls. I'd get some testers anyway as the colours obviously look different in different lights. I also think the colours tend to come out lighter on the doors so ideally would test a sample. For the floor, you could run planks horizontally but if you don't like that look then opt for wide planks as per the 2nd pic. Encaustic tiles also look good in a narrow space. The last pic is a concrete tile from rockett st George but you could consider adding colour for tiles rather than accessories as there are lots of similar tiles around ATM

@Daisy England - Thanks for the advice on the worktop depths, I should have mentioned in the original post that we're not that keen on the marble looks though. @Alexander Trovalusci - Would there be a reason to get marble or granite over quartz, from what I've read you have to be a lot more careful with marble and with three young boys in the house that may be an issue! @rinked - Thanks for suggestions, the Stellar Blanco and Et Serena look good, not so sure on the Lyra though. @Juliet Docherty - I have contacted the kitchen company, but they aren't able to supply a colour code, unfortunately.

Hello Sophie. Little Greene's Loft White would work a treat. Perhaps you could use it on the ceiling and wood work & something like their French Grey Pale on the walls for a soft contrast. Good luck! P&P
