upper cabinets

How do your upper cabinets open? Looks like they may pull up but from what I have seen, that type would need to be a few inches lower than the ceiling and yours look like they go to the top.

I’ve been doing these for years. They do open up towards the ceiling. I use a Blum Servo Drive with restrictors. I design cabinets to give the illusion of going to the ceiling.

We were on our way to removing the RH long bit to make the desk straight but stopped here at a half-way house position - just to consider it. We do a lot of procrastinating in my house!! Means retaining the large corner space. Needs a new top, obvs and in a different shape, probably curved? What do you think? Now got a fair bit of free wall. Daughter likes it:) Electrician comes next week so we need to decide this weekend.

If you can put a filler, it's best to put a filler even if it's small, you want to be able to open the door comfortably without having to make a compromise to open it at 90 degrees each time, it will really annoy you. As you said you have cabinets already assembled could you not put another base cupboard next to it to as if it is the oven cupboard and see if you can open the doors comfortably?

I'm in Northern Ireland and used Dee Light Furniture Facelifts NI. He has a Facebook page with lots of photos of his work showing lots of colours so its worth a look there. His standard of work is excellent and came highly recommended by word of mouth. He also builds this tear drop caravans to order! I think it was worth paying someone as he made our existing doors and drawers look brand new filling the holes from the old handles. We could never have done that to his standard
