can any real/engineered wood flooring be laid herringbone?

Lots of real wood and engineered wood is laid this way. For specific product questions, it might be better to speak with the suppliers about their products and how you need them to work for your particular needs. Good luck !

Absolutely! There are several different formats depending on personal taste and rooms size.

Hi Barney, That sounds fab and I'm sure it will look beautiful. Just a quick comment on parquet / herringbone tiles after some recent experience on our renovation project, you probably know this already but I didn't and it ended up as quite an expensive learning for us; cutting tiles to a herringbone pattern is super time consuming! No problem if you get a fixed price upfront or are doing it yourself but having just had our new walk in shower tiled (2m x 1m) in a herringbone pattern I was astounded by how long it took and the complexity of all the 45 degree cuts! It looks stunning but I selected the tiles and pattern with aesthetics in mind and definitely with no comprehension of the cost implications :) Best wishes, Claire

Porcelein wood effect herringbone or engineered

hello! i am looking for a herrinbgone flooring in engineered wood or porcelein wood effect tile that doesn't look "fake" or the tiles too large - is this possible? I love the herringbone effect, but the examples I have found with the porcelein tiles lok really large pieces which I'm worried will overbear our extension and make it look smaller. also, any idea on where we can find such wood/tiles around the 50£ per sq m mark?

We have just put a reclaimed parquet floor in a herringbone pattern in our new open plan kitchen. Hasn't been sanded and finished but it is oak and floor will look more uniform and paler once the old varnish is removed . Kitchen units are kombu green (dark green), with pale quartz worktops. Wood will soften the room As you can see we have our old sofas in there at the moment. It is 50m2 Work in progress.

Maybe choosing a darker shade? If that is outdoor porcelain it can be difficult to clean, especially that colour. If the R Rating (non slip rating) is R13 it is massively non slip but that very fact makes it cling onto the dirt. Maybe go for a R11 rating? You could then get the same paving for indoors for that sleek look.
