Need help for my Master Bathroom en-suite layout
Comments (24)Hi All - taking on board your comments I have come up with three variations. Of course would love your comments! The distance from vanity to WC in plan 1 is approx 60cm - it could be made a bit more. This falls within the guideline you posted (23inches). More space could be created by making the shower a bit narrower (shown on all 3 plans as 1m wide (39 inches). I don't think there is quite enough space to divide the room and the problem with the idea of the bath right in the middle is that on a practical basis we would have to walk around it on a daily basis to get to the shower! Could quickly get very annoying!...See MoreOver-garage extension (master bedroom/ensuite) making narrow room work
Comments (22)We are doing the same. weve done our build in 2 phases so weve just conpleted the single storey rear extension and about to start building the double storey in April. Although we are making our front box room bigger by taking it out over the new attached garage to make hopefully 4 double bedrooms. the room will only be 2.38m wide and around 4.3m long with a 90cm space for a shower, toilet and sink. hoping it works and the above from man about the house gives me hope it will as i plan to do something similar with a small area at the back literally for the bed and some bedside tables then a small walk through wardrobe area and then a thin ensuite. will decide where to put stud walls once the shell and floor in built so i can determine the space needed....See MoreLayout of master suite - bedroom/ ensuite/ walk in wardrobe
Comments (36)I like Jonathon’s first drawing for a couple of reasons. You can have a walk in wardrobe for all the hanging clothes, which can end up looking a bit messy, and have the more traditional type of wardrobe for items that can be boxed up, such as handbags and shoes, and folded clothes / drawer items. I think a walk in wardrobe is better without a window as natural light can fade clothes, so much better to have a bright bathroom with 2 windows. Finally, as you’re building the internal walls from scratch you could look into having a pocket door system into the en suite thereby preventing a swinging door getting in the way of either the wardrobe or the shower....See MoreSmall en-suite layout help
Comments (6)Thanks for the comments. The bathroom is next door so we can feed into the soil pipe there. The wall where toilet and sink are in the plan above is an outside wall. I don’t think there’s really much else we can do given where it is in the room etc. I’ve attached a plan of the upstairs - you can see the bedroom (with previous small shower and sink. I am aware of not having enough space for knees which is why I think we need to go for a 700 x 900 shower tray and a short projection toilet to give us those few extra mm. I think Sarah’s plan would work? We’re going to draw out some stuff on the floor in there today now that it’s all ripped out and use a chair for a toilet to visualise it!...See MoreChristina
